also:

an offer to merge with the ACC, the ACC knowsfull well that had FSU lost just 1 of those close regular season conference games that they are on the outside looking in today regardless of what happened in their ccg. That conference is not strong enough to produce a playoff team every year, its champ is undefeated and sitting behind 1 loss teams now.

The BIG XII must expand. Those saying no are just denying reality.

ACC 14 teams
SEC 14 teams
B1G 14 teams

The writting is on the wall, these conferences will not be regressing. PAC 12 got smart and dumped the round robin shit. The BIG XII was forced into it by programs saying peace, shit we had to add two just to avoid being like the BIG LEAST with only 8.

I like adding the Ohio Market in Cincinnati and the Florida market with UCF.

Why should one conference be responsible for the bad decisions made by other conferences? If your neighbor burns his house down, should you do the same for the sake of consistency?

Nice math, Mathy

It only makes sense.

No more "SOMEONE GONNA GET LEFT OUT!".

Each conference champ will get in.

Between texico being WAY too self-centered and all the pussy teams being pussies, this conference hasn't stood a chance.

1. They need another Texas school like they need a hole in their head no network advantage - no Houston.
2. Notre Dame has made their choice based on the schools academic recruiting goals so if they join a conference it's the ACC - no ND.
3. Boise is a geographic nightmare for the Big 12 and does not bring enough TV sets with them - no Boise.

Best choices:

BYU
UCF
South Florida
Cincinnati

BYU
CINCINNATI
UCF
BOISE they are on espn more then ou it is just as far to go to boise as is to colorado when they played in the big 12

They are on on crappy channels late at night as the only alternative in case the PAC game gets out of hand. Personally I lock up what's left of the Florida schools:

UCF Enrollment - 60k
South Florida - 48k
Boise State - 22k

because the committee is compromised of people who have backgrounds in those conferences with at least 12 teams and believe its the way to go, and they have say so on who is in and who is out. Not saying I totally disagree with your line of thinking but that's pretty much it in a nutshell.

Big12 should just disband...let the sec, pac12, b1g and ACC assimilate them and have the conference championships be the play-in games. No committee needed.

Wouldn't surprise me if the OU and Texas to the PAC talk starts back up in the off season.

The Big 12 has no one to blame but themselves. What, they ran that "one true champion" spot a thousand times, and then picked co-champions. Baylor had every right to feel betrayed.

But hey, whenever a conference named the Big 12 has only 10 members, and they consider themselves bastions of learning, well, we have a problem.

I doubt they will do it (too much self interest for the conference) but it really makes sense. Adding a couple lower tier teams won't do them any good in terms of SOS or revenue.

Without quality additions and a conference network the Big 12 is on borrowed time. It might take 10 years but the economic inequality will eventually make all but OU and Texas irrelevant. No amount of OOC scheduling will make up for it.

The rules state there must be 12 teams minimum for a conference championship. We only got 10 with no really good teams to add. B12 is in a pickle. Adding BYU and UCF are the only legitimate options. But geographically that's a disaster.

The 12 team rule with problem be changing soon. Both the Big 12, and ACC had filed with the NCAA to not regulate how they do conference championships, and most people think they are going win that case.

But precedent has been set.

The B1G, ACC, and PAC 10 complied to that rule. Which I am SURE the Big 12 kept reminding them about from 1996 through 2010.

I am sure at the NCAA meetings, the Big 12 and the SEC were rather vocal in that no conference could have a championship game without 12 or more teams.

Of course, I am just stirring the pot and being a Devil's Advocate.

I think the Big 12 shouldn't panic. They got caught in an odd situation this year. Suppose you go to a conference championship game. Say you have an undefeated Oklahoma and everyone else has 2 losses. Then say OU loses in the conference title game. You just and Oklahoma guaranteed to get into the playoffs the way its now and you don't if they lose in a "championship" game in which they would still have 1 less loss than anyone else in conference.
