The fact that tOSU freakin killed Wisconsin and the Big 12 gave the committee an easy out is a lot of it also. If tOSU wins by a FG I'm not sure they get in.

You are correct the draw of tOSU had something to do with it but the committee had a problem and the Big 12 left them a solution that would garner the lowest bitch count.

I was thinking largest TV draw, but low bitch count works too

Hell, the BIG just added two shitty teams and it didn't seem to hurt them.

That was pretty much about this...

Add two shitty teams, the big 12 is losing out on as much money that can make up for adding BYU and cincy

BYU would be great, but I don't think that's likely. Cincinnati and Colorado State sound good to me.

Hey, I'm all for conference expansion. I liked the CCG. I liked the Divisions and most importantly I liked keeping Texas dumb-asses from winning conference titles. Remember that 9 year Mack Brown 10 win streak they were so proud of?

2 conference titles.

BOOM

OU in the shitter. BOOM!

:pound:

If the BigXII expands (which I think would be a bad idea), I would look for Cincinnati and Memphis. The Bearcats and tigers add TV markets in Ohio and Tennessee and both have strong histories in basketball.

But - if they are looking to improve their chances to get into the championship tournament, the BigXII is better served by not panicking and staying pat.

UCF (gets B12 into FL, great market)
Cincy (Market/new stadium)
Penn (academics/tv market in Philly 50k+ stadium)
Rice (Houston " as Penn)
UConn (easy win,academics, great basketball)

Don't want the Smurf turf  there has to be some decent teams that are available and geographically feasible that may want in the big xii

Boise brings nothing to the table. Nobody wants to travel to that shit hole, and they're returning to irrelevance as they should. And yes, fuck that stupid field.

Seriously Houston could be an option if they could get their program back on track

There's no need to expand the conference, or even to try and schedule better OOC games. The Xii just happened to be the one P5 league left out in the cold this year. If it had been the Big Ten, we would be hearing about how CCG's are unnecessary, and they punish instead of reward leagues with that extra game which in some cases is a rematch.

If you go undefeated in a P5 league, you get into the playoffs. This year, there were 5 teams with one loss, fighting for three playoff spots.

This was all planned to hasten the eventual demise of the Big XII.

Ten teams in the Big XII.

Ten vacancies in the other P5 conferences that would take them all to 16 teams.

Houston and Boise maybe Notre dame

1. They need another Texas school like they need a hole in their head no network advantage - no Houston.
2. Notre Dame has made their choice based on the schools academic recruiting goals so if they join a conference it's the ACC - no ND.
3. Boise is a geographic nightmare for the Big 12 and does not bring enough TV sets with them - no Boise.

Best choices:

BYU
UCF
South Florida
Cincinnati
