Just looking at Morgan vs Alomar for starters, Morgan probably had a good 5 seasons that were better than anything Alomar ever put up.

To me, it's Hornsby hands down. The debate on dead ball vs live all, yada, cracks me up. Greatness of a player is determined by how dominant you were vs the best in the world when you played. Hornsby was the man

and they are the only ones in the conversation IMO

I know you're not suggesting that Utley is a GOAT candidate, but if we're talking about him, why not Cano? I think I'd rank Cano over Utley.

Their career stats offensively are virtually a wash. The main difference is that Utley has been much better defensively overall throughout their careers.

Maybe soon, but not yet... Although it is very close between them 2... I would take Utley's career numbers over cano's still... But this will probably be the last year of me saying that...

Very similar career slash stats, but Cano has more PAs in two less seasons than Utley.

and that's why I think cano will surpass Utley this season... Utley's defense and OBP is enough for me to pick Utley over cano up to now...

It's crazy to me that Cano is more of a veteran (in terms of games played) than Utley. I didn't expect that.
