If his kidneys hadn't failed on him he would be very high on this list.
Ronnie Lott stated that Easley was the best Safety ever when he was asked.
From the given list it would be Krause and Lott.

Lott was an All-Pro CB before becoming an All-World S. The combination of leadership, pass coverage, tackling, and flat out intimidation is unmatched. Tatum is close but lacks in pass coverage (IMO). Sean Taylor was amazing in his short time, but too small a sample size to play the "woulda-shoulda-coulda" game vs. the other legends on this list. Lott was a beast.

That said, I AM a Niner fan, so I have my bias.

Don't know how Tatum doesn't make the final table, but Lott is a runaway winner. The cut-off pinky and the hit over the middle on Bavaro seal the deal.

True. That being said many experts agree that we have two of the best that have ever played in Troy and Ed. Ed's career is already over and Troy's is just about done (3, maybe 4 years left).

Add to that I simply had the room on the options list. There are a LOT of CB's in the HoF but not many safeties.

It just made sense.

He put a hit on NYG TE Mark Bavarro while going over the middle on MNF that still to this day makes me cringe.

And don't get me started on Ickey Woods.
