OK, to clear a few things up.....

"Why no Keith Moon"? Simple. He passed out while performing and a kid was brought on stage to take his place. The kid played drummer for his HS band. If you can be replaced that easily...I wont put you on my list.

"Why no Ringo"? Drummer for the Beatles was pretty simple.

"Why is Rick Allen on the list"? Easy, dude has one freakin' arm. He does everything the others do, just with one arm. Degree of difficulty alone puts him on the list.

Your Keith Moon "logic" is ridiculous. I guess when Montana and Young were both injured, then Steve Bono was a better QB because he came in and replaced them?? Moon was one of the all-time greats and his exclusion on this list invalidates your knowledge of drumming.

Also, props to Rick Allen and Def Lepard for continuing in the face of adversity but he was not a great drummer before he was injured and was rendered even more simplistic afterwards.

Some love for the grunge era guys is also needed: Not only Dave Grohl (Nirvana, QOSTA, FF, TCV, etc) but Matt Cameron (Soundgarden, Pearl Jam), Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees), and Dale Crover (Melvins) are/were all damn good.

Oh, and well we are at it, Lars Ulrich: On his best days he is competent, on his worst days he SUCKS!

You might as well put Meg White on there if you are going to have Lars Ulrich and Rick Allen on the list.

Here's one of the all-time great drum performances in one of the greatest songs ever recorded.

Carl Palmer has been mentioned a couple of times, but some of the younger folks might not know who he is. A classically trainer percussionist who was the drummer for Emerson, Lake and Palmer.

Dave Grohl, no question. What dave did on a 5 piece kit in Nirvana was mindblowing. You watch the Paramount video, he is killing that little kit.

His playing Rock and Roll at Wembley with Jimmy Paige and John Paul Jones even impressed Jimmy.

I second the vote for Ginger Baker. He has to be on the list.
