All we have learned over the past 3 seasons is we have a really good defensive coordinator, problem lies in him being the head coach

Very true......I thought the samething........if Fluss is still calling the shots again(I tend to think he should),theres no reason to have someone else calling the def.......

Im all for an offensive coach, but I higjhly doubt the front office would demote Fluss to def coordinator......nor do I think Fluss would stay if that happened.

Leaning the other way.
Our defense were bottom feeders in 2022 and headed that way to start 2023.
Have we already forgotten some of the monumental, historic losses we have surrendered this season?!?

We have some diamonds on defense for sure. But i give more credit to the players than to Eberflus.
To me, that's like saying the coaches of the Bosa bros or Watt are excellent defensive coaches.

This article emphasizes the Bears priority for the offseason:

I fear the Packers are going to double team the shit out of Moore on Sunday.

Wheres BS.....??......

Time for him to chime in on Bears yet want another wr again.....lol

Im guessing he gave up after he found out teams dont actually tank.

He's probably in jail. Atho truth be told, I'm normally not a WR guy either when it comes to using a #1 pick on one. I have to go all the way back to the early 90's in wanting the Bears to use their 1st pick on WR Curtis Conway. But unless Poles loads up on the position in free agency, and I think most of us feel he won't, it would be almost criminal to not use one of our two 1st rounders on one. And this is especially true considering the talent of the elite receivers in this draft starting first and foremost with MHJ.

And 1 those losses was 2 weeks ago vs CLE!!! Eberflus is NOT...

He's average at best.
well, he is a better DC than head coach then.

Jaylon got his pro bowl bonus and is now out for this game. I have not been following, does Green Bay have a number one receiver yet?

Three other key games for us to follow on Sunday:

Jets at Patriots
Cowboys at Commanders
Seahawks at Cardinals

What makes these games somewhat crucial to our draft standing are the Pats, Commanders, and Cards all sit at 4 wins. Right now the draft order is
1. Bears
2. Commanders
3. Patriots
4. Cardinals

Thanks to the strength of schedule, this is the current draft order. Natually if all three teams lose, it remains the same. And this could be important because while the Commanders and Patriots will likely take a QB with their picks, it's pretty much assumed the Cardinals will take MHJ, assuming he's still on the board. If the Bears want their cake and eat it too, ie still trade down and yet take MHJ, the scenario is we trade with either the Commanders or the Patriots, aauming either team wants a particular player, which then leaves us the option of grabbing the talented WR.

But all this could change depending on Sunday's outcome. I'm looking at the Jets-Pats game in particular. Can't exactly say the Jets are in a downward spiral, but they have lost 7 of their last 9. That tells me they're not exactly brimming with confidence. We also can't even rule out the Commanders shocking the Cowboys, altho the 'Boys smell blood in the water. Winning Sunday gives them the NFC East title as well as the #2 seed in the playoffs. We also can't rule out the Cards winning, but the Hawks are still in the hunt, so they'll be going full bore.
Weird things always happen the final week.

I was listening to a podcast this morning at the gym and it cited a statistic that teams with playoff implications during the final week are QUITE poor against the spread. Teams with win/in games during the final week (think Colts in 2021 losing the Jacksonville) are also below .500.

Why? I don't know. It's interesting. The team with nothing to lose is playing fast and loose with nothing to lose. While the win/in team is pressing and playing not to lose. That would be my guess.

No. Their receiving corp is full of mediocre to slightly above average guys. TE isn't a pass game threat either. Still hurts missing Jaylon, though. I do want to win this game.

We have the #1 overall pick. I'm fine sinking our 2nd pick in the 1st round slightly if it means knocking the Pack out of the playoffs and finishing off our tremendous finish to the season.

Maybe a touch early to begin this thread, since the game is not for another 5 days. But hell, it's the last one of the season - pretty much our Super Bowl - and all of us are chomping at the bit to get rolling on the postseason/next season chatter. So let's knock off the Packers Sunday, which might in turn knock them out of the playoffs altogether. That's why this game is our Super Bowl.
Only thing remotely interesting about this game is that it is probably Field's Sayonara.

Theres one bigger homer than Michael Wilbon..........Adam Rank.
That's putting it mildly. I believe in his preseason prediction Rank pegged the Bears at 12-5 or 13-4, something like that. I love his enthusiasm for the team, but good grief, if that isn't an example of blatant homerism, then nothing is.

Guess we have to look at tomorrow as a win-win situation. If we win, well that's obvious. We exit the season on a super positive note and in the process all but knock the Packers out of the playoffs. WIN.

If we lose a close & well fought game, it will probably cement our status for a top 10 pick in the draft order, whereas a dub would likely place us somewhere around the early-mid teens. WIN.

So where's the 'lose' in any of this? I'd say if we once again got our clocks cleaned by our arch rivals, yeah we have the better draft pick, but to me it would leave a super sour taste in my mouth knowing they dominated us yet again. And who wants to exit the season with that? LOSE.

Not really a true bona fide go to #1, no. Honestly I think that helps them in a couple instances, first is the development on Love so he's going to where the ball should go based on read and second in that the defenses aren't game planning to take 1 guy away so it makes the D play more honest or balanced. Just a simpletons opinion, so take it for what it's worth.

Good luck tomorrow, just not too much luck...like winning luck...can't wish that on you

I don't blame Bears' fans for hating him, but he did get results against the Bears. 5 wins in 15 years is 1 win every 3 years, that's domination, so yes the hate is understandable

Who left the door open.......??

I will say this, even Favre was hated by me for a few reasons:

Biggest one,I grew up in a family where my Dad and 3 brothers were GB fans......it was tough since the 90s to now for me.(and miss the banter with all 3. Rip)
2ndly,of course hated him from him kicking our ass.......who wouldnt hate him.
But Brett actually grew on me,would of loved to of partied it up with him back in the day......Seemed to have fun on the field to boot.

Aaron Rodgers.....theres absolutley nothing to like about the smug, cocky, arrogant asshole.......even when hes trying to be humbke,he comes off as an arrogant asshole......and that came from one of my GBP buddies.

So fuck AR........
He does not look the type to where anyone would wanna hangout with him......

It's always been a respectful hate. Face it, Rodgers owned us. I met him once at a charity golf tournament some years back. Good sense of humor. I pointed to my Bears hat and said this is our year and he just looked at me with a snarky smile and said "two easy wins". Sonuvabitch turned out to be right.

so, what it sounds like is Jordan Love is getting the fudge to the playoffs without the number ones or "fans" demand for fields.

Apparently, this is not a complete knock out if the bears win, there is still a 25% chance they get in with other losses. Apparently this is something too difficult for even AI to explain, but the bears could win, the bears drop farther in the draft, and the fudge still might make it. Sounds like how it works for us fans. Maybe that ends after the lions and vikings game, so it might get defined before kickoff since we end up with the late game.

Just remember, dropping our draft position does not just mean the first round picks, its every round behind that. I think we all take that cherry on top if it finally means beating the packers at lambeau.
