Maybe a touch early to begin this thread, since the game is not for another 5 days. But hell, it's the last one of the season - pretty much our Super Bowl - and all of us are chomping at the bit to get rolling on the postseason/next season chatter. So let's knock off the Packers Sunday, which might in turn knock them out of the playoffs altogether. That's why this game is our Super Bowl.

Not sure which Teams will show on Sunday, Early season Bears or last Sunday Bears, Panthers Green Bay or Vikings Green Bay, but the Bears last 5/6 games have been entertaining as all get out.

God I hope it ain't the early season Bears who show up. Honestly, I'd love to win this game big time, but I could also live with a loss. Just make a damn game out of it. Is that too much to ask?

FYI, in case anyone thought the Bears would take it easy being we have nothing to play for:

Packers win and they are in.........if they lose, they need more teams to lose for the help they need to get in
So give them a big ol'kick in the nads Sunday. :bounce:

I never thought we would sit anyone.....
If we are moving on from JF,then we need him at his best.....
Even if we do keep him, still the same.

We might have a chance at this one based on recent play...but they always have our number so expecting the worst.
i wasnt surprised they beat MN, but was surprised how bad.

MN looks like it just quit. It would've been worse but Love missed more than one wide open player that would've gone for 7

That was pretty much my take, too. I know Mullins is not true starter material, but I thought O'Connell should have started him in that game. It was like he threw the kid, Hall to the wolves having him start against a solid Packers defense. He couldn't get anything going, then it just snowballed from there.

Three other key games for us to follow on Sunday:

Jets at Patriots
Cowboys at Commanders
Seahawks at Cardinals

What makes these games somewhat crucial to our draft standing are the Pats, Commanders, and Cards all sit at 4 wins. Right now the draft order is
1. Bears
2. Commanders
3. Patriots
4. Cardinals

Thanks to the strength of schedule, this is the current draft order. Natually if all three teams lose, it remains the same. And this could be important because while the Commanders and Patriots will likely take a QB with their picks, it's pretty much assumed the Cardinals will take MHJ, assuming he's still on the board. If the Bears want their cake and eat it too, ie still trade down and yet take MHJ, the scenario is we trade with either the Commanders or the Patriots, aauming either team wants a particular player, which then leaves us the option of grabbing the talented WR.

But all this could change depending on Sunday's outcome. I'm looking at the Jets-Pats game in particular. Can't exactly say the Jets are in a downward spiral, but they have lost 7 of their last 9. That tells me they're not exactly brimming with confidence. We also can't even rule out the Commanders shocking the Cowboys, altho the 'Boys smell blood in the water. Winning Sunday gives them the NFC East title as well as the #2 seed in the playoffs. We also can't rule out the Cards winning, but the Hawks are still in the hunt, so they'll be going full bore.

Did some research, and Flus is our first head coach since Abe Gibron in 1972 to not beat Green Bay in either of his first two tries.

Nagy - Second try
2018 Week 15

John Fox - Second try
2015 Week 12

Trestman - First try
2013 Week 9

Lovie - First try
2004 Week 2

Jauron - First try
1999 Week 9

Dave Wannstedt - Second try
1993 Week 14

Da Coach - Second try
1983 Week 16 (Ditka was hired in 1982, but the players strike cancelled 8 games that year, including both peck games.

Neill Armstrong - Second try
1978 Week 15

Jack Pardee - First try
1975 Week 8

Abe Gibron - Third try
1972 0-2
1973 Week 8

Flus our first head coach EVER to start 0-3 against them......please dont make it 0-4.

Just an fyi......

does,nt a packers win put them in them in the playoffs?
Yes, if they win they're in, no need for tiebreakers or anything like that. Not sure if they lose that they're automatically out - those tiebreakers could kick in at that point. Go Bears!!!!

First of all, it is never too early to start fudge packing week. Do we finally have a team to do the packing and not being packed?
What I need is a decisive victory. I dont want to spend the entire off season arguing with the tea baggers. If Fields cannot beat the packers, if Everfluke cannot beat the packers, will it carry any weight? Most likely not. I am sure there will be excuses. I think either way the excuses start when Fields gets to learn a whole new offense next year when Getsy is let go, or worse, hired as a head coach somewhere.
All we have learned over the past 3 seasons is we have a really good defensive coordinator, problem lies in him being the head coach.
I sure hope they can do it, I wish I could get to the point of expecting it again.
