This is from Michael Wilbon, who thought the Bears were going to win tonight.
Thanks so much to so many folks who wished me Happy Birthday! Didn't know my gift would be watchin' the Bears get clowned by the 49ers! LOL
It's an automatic *** whuppin when Bears come to SF...until they can beat a good team they're just a pretender...
My favorite Michael Wilbon thing is his consistent hyping of RGIII, who he has called for at least two weeks now the best player in the entire NFL. He actually repeated that on the air today and brought up yesterday's game performance as partial proof.
Aldon Smith's 5.5 sacks is tied for 5th most in an NFL game since they started keepng track of sacks. Had he got another half sack, he would've been tied for 2nd with 3 other players.
NEXT LEVEL: Colin Kaepernick was excellent when the Bears sent four or fewer pass rushers Monday, completing 10-of-14 passes for 143 yards and a touchdown. Kaepernick connected for two plays of at least 30 yards against a Bears defense that had allowed four such plays all seasons with such pressure. [-]
Vernon Davis had a season-high eight targets Monday, five of which were on throws further than 10 yards downfield. Davis had three catches for 65 yards on such passes against the Bears, his most receptions on throws further than 10 yards downfield in the last two seasons.
The Bears allowed 94 rushing yards between the tackles Monday, 70 of which came in the first half. The Bears have now given up at least 80 yards on interior rushes in each of their last five games, after only one (Packers, Week 2) of their first five opponents rushed for more than 60 yards between the tackles.
The 49ers averaged 4.5 dropbacks per sack when sending four or fewer pass rushers Monday, their most effective four-man pass rush in the last five seasons. Aldon Smith had a career-high 5.5 sacks against the Bears, all of which came when sending four or fewer pass rushers. All of Smith's league-leading 15 sacks this season have come when the 49ers send standard pressure.
Colin Kaepernick had the best starting debut in terms of Total QBR by any player over the last 5 seasons.
