you know who you can trust on here. twitter.... not so much.
some people (I don't know who) booed Darcy Regier when he came out to present the players of the game.
It had nothing to do with one team or the other on the ice.

So the fact that some booing took place was indeed true, just not the intended target.

And just so you know the person who twated it was asking if they were booing the team, not saying they were.

Lets all calm down a bit shall we.

For all the funny ha ha posts is this thread how disheartening for a home team to have the
Bulk of the fans in attendance cheering for the road team in such a lopsided fashion

Sure they can go into saskatoon and work the seige mentality angle in the dressing room in agold medal game
But what kind of mental fuck job did those us kids just go through for 60 minutes

You take a bunch of people from Buffalo who are in a tough economy and on hard times, and you introduce a bunch of Canadians who will pay 3 times the worth of the ticket, and you get Americans with more money in their pocket watching the game from their couch.

Sucks to see it happen, but what can you do about it? Money talks.

I was very disappointed by that. I thought a town like Buffalo, which almost everyone says in agreement is a great hockey town with good reason, would support the US kids a lot better than they did.

Save it for Oprah.

Buffalo still remains a great hockey town no matter what people think based on this game.

Sometimes shit happens that people aren't aware of, but decide it's easier just to paint a picture with a wide brush.

they may have wanted to get tickets, but us Canadians are crafty individuals when it comes to hockey tickets.
Buffalo is a hell of a hockey town, but there's no stopping a CDN invasion like this.
next time US hosts, they need to go a little farther from the border. :p

not too far south though, or snowbirds will take over.

I never said Buffalo wasn't a great hockey town, in fact I'm pretty sure I said the exact opposite.

Yet you are disaapointed in the lack of support, suggesting that Buffalo isn't quite the hockey town you thought it was.

I'm just saying you can't say you're disappointed unless you know for a fact that the people here just decided they didn't care.

No it just means I had unrealistic expectations going into this tournament. Or you could look at it as me underestimating Canadian fans' ability to travel. My opinion of Buffalo hasn't changed because of this tournament. I'll just know better and expect Canadian fans to be the majority again the next time the US hosts the World Juniors.

Who knows how it all went down, and what the exact numbers are?

I just know that no matter how it looks, Buffalo is still a great Hockey town no matter what people think.

Dude u shouldn't feel the need to defend buffalos hockey honour

U said it yourself when u mockingly asked if all of canada shut down for this game

This tournament as we know it today is a tsn marketing creation

I don't expect people not in canada to have total buy-in .. They don't

And its why the iihf has quietly agreed to have canada host it every second year
(Was every 3rd year)

I think anyone would get sick of people bashing or taking shots at their City without anything to really go off of except for a knee jerk reaction to something they see.

Sometimes pride just takes over at that point and you just have to defend.

Agreed. It's what got me in trouble in the swamp over the "5 years of watching hockey" and "2003-04 attendance" comments.

You sound like one of those hobo Detroit fans.
