That was my point too.Shields isn't an ace, but he is a quality #2 pitcher. I wouldn't refer to him as mid tier, but that is just me.

Kinsler played there last year and how many homers did he hit? The other teams have their own power hitters, and guess what? The numbers have been down.
He's not a top level free agent like a Scherzer, Verlander, Darvish, Kershaw, or Price would be.
Don't hold me to this, but we actually have a chance to win this game...
It might not be only a park thing. Power numbers are down across the board this year. It's almost mid-August and only 2 hitters have 30+ HRs
Why do you and others consider Verlander a top level starter when he hasn't been for 2 years?
Were you one of the voters on ESPN last week when they asked who was the best pitcher on the Tigers staff and he got 29% of the vote? But the fact is, this season, he's their 5th best starter IMO. And the first 3 in the rotation there's certainly no debate about it.

I am saying there is more at play than just the change in the ballpark. A lack of power hitters will cause the numbers to go down as well.
The Ian that played here last year was not the same player as he was in the past. He is barely on pace to exceed last year's numbers this year. In 69 more ABs he will have the same amount of ABs as last year and if he only hits 2 HRs in those ABs he will be exactly even with last year's pace.
I would of voted for Scherzer as their best pitcher. I didn't vote on that poll. The fact remains that if my team was facing Verlander in the playoffs, I wouldn't be too confident. He can still shut you down on any given day.
Well, maybe. But he's mightily struggled all season and in a 7 game playoff scenario, him or Porcello would be 4th, and I'd go with Porcello.
I am telling you that the change in the physics of the park has way more to do with than the people playing there. Josh Hamilton homers were not affected that much by the jet stream. He hit 430+ homers on the reg. Same with Cruz. The jet stream helped guys like Young hit 20 homers in a season. Jet stream helped the Ranger have multiple 20 homer players in the past.
LOL Dang close. No longer the worst team in baseball.
