I do expect much more out of Elvis next year and I think Odor will be fine at 2B. I still think Profar would have more upside than Roughned, but if he can't get healthy that won't matter.

Pretty much how I feel. Most people thought Mo was going to be something special. There might be a case for blaming the Cowboys for his lack of development though.

That could definitely be the case. Or it could be that "4" he scored on the Wonderlic test.

I get why they did it. They know they missed out on Patrick Peterson the year before. Mo was actually seen as the best defensive player in the draft by lots of folks that year. I honestly blame Mo more than I blame Jerry for that. Then again the Cowboys might just suck ass at developing young talent.

When you're team needs quality starters at 6 or more positions you don't trade 2 for 1 regardless of player or his position IMO.

You only do something like this when you're a player or two away from playing for all the marbles, and we can't even buy a seat to the league championship.

Jerry was/is/will be a joke as a GM for life; hopefully just his.

Tigers stuck with Price in the 9th and White Sox tied it. Don't blame them for not going to the pen.

At the time I thought it was just a case of a guy not giving a damn because his job didn't entail a random test. Seriously that test is pretty ridiculous. I scored a 34 on it, so sign me up Cowboys!!!

Oh, I have sen them draft a couple of players in the first 2 rounds that I would have gladly traded for one good player. lol

You do if he's supposed to be a generational talent. They hit on Bryant by trading picks to move up for him. They missed on Mo. It happens.

How come? I'm looking forward to it.

The news on Profar isn't anything to get enthused about, but other than this, it's going to be gangbusters IMO.
IDK. Think all this winning of late will give JD a false since of security of some sort. We will probably be out spent on about every FA. Don't really have many viable trade chips that I think JD will want to trade with. Don't want him to come back and say "you know Tepesch and Martinez weren't really all that bad" kinda thing.

Jerry has always been like a crow......if it's shiny and has bling he wants to pick it up and take it home.

When your team has holes almost everywhere a "single player" will not make a difference in the grand scheme.

As Tony Dungy said when asked about if he could coach for either Daniel Snyder or Jerry Jones, or not work in the NFL? he replied, "let's just say I'm retired."

He went on to say the problem with both of these men is they think individuals with great talent will make the team great, and yet neither one of them has any idea of how to build a team.

OK....sorry guys.....I'm done with the Cowboys on our Ranger site.

I asked this about Tepesch the other night so I will ask the same thing about Nick Martinez. In Martinez's last 9 starts his ERA is 3.48 and his WHIP is 1.24. Is that changing anyone's mind about considering Nick for next year's rotation?

Not really no. If he and Tepesch are both in the rotation next year they will lose another 85 games.

I don't want to put words in JD's mouth, but over their last 9 starts both Nicks have looked much, much better. 3.29 and 3.48 ERAs for them.
