That doesn't surprise me. I fully expect the same kind of announcement about Scheppers. I really have some major reservations about our medical staff and the medical related decision making on this club.

LOL! Yep, that's it. Actually, he wanted to spend time with his family still. I would still like to have him as our hitting coach at some point.

I remember early in the season and listening to Eric Nadel talking about Martinez, and he was a huge fan of young Nick.

Basically, he felt this kid soaked up information like a sponge and was the very "coachable."

And he somehow magically out performed his peripherals. I wouldn't use his improbable success to make a case for other pitchers. I also think he was more polished than those two.

How Nick pitched tonight is what I would want out of a 4th or 5th starter. Over 6 innings of 5 hit baseball with no walks is just fine.

HaHa. I guess that would be just fine for a #4 or #5. Zero earned runs and 5 baserunners in 6.2 cuts it in almost every case. Not quite ace material, but just about covers everything else.
