I actually defend Bama on when they play their FCS team and have said many times I don’t give a fuck whether it’s week 3 or week 12. I don’t think P5 teams should be playing FCS teams except under unusual circumstances.

Strength of record just means it's the SoS of the games been played so far IIRC. It's still basically the same thing. FPI is wack because they fix their results with human input, it's not an actual computer ranking.
