Strength of record just means it's the SoS of the games been played so far IIRC. It's still basically the same thing. FPI is wack because they fix their results with human input, it's not an actual computer ranking.

Ohio St SoS for played so far: #48. Alabama #107, Texas A&M: #1 - see that looks pretty accurate. Because anyone who thinks Ohio St has played a tougher schedule than say a team like Texas A&M, or hell even close to that, has lost their mind.

A&M has played vs Clemson, Alabama and Kentucky(lol). That's 2 playoff teams, and another top25 team. Ohio St has played Penn St.

So you tell me which rankings have an actual clue on things.

Agreed, very few teams can hang with Bama, but if I were to tell you that team X will only play 2 ranked opponents all year long and have a SoS in the 60’s, you wouldn’t be telling us about how they are a great team playing an awesome schedule and no one can possibly call them out about playing a weak schedule.

Bama has a pathetically weak schedule for any top 10 and if it was an undefeated UCF with that SoS you would not be talking about how they deserve to be in a playoff.
