Pac-12, Big Ten conferences call off football partnership - ESPN

The scheduling partnership between the Pac-12 and Big Ten won't happen after all.

The conferences said Friday that their agreement, announced in December and set to begin in 2017, has been called off because of football scheduling issues involving several Pac-12 schools. A round-robin football schedule, featuring 12 games per year between Big Ten and Pac-12 teams, had been the cornerstone of the pact, although it also included elements involving other sports and the two leagues' television networks.

That is a bunch of BS, about the scheduling problems. It has to do with the Playoff.

IMO by 2030, schools like Idaho will be Independents and have schedules like this...

Seems to me that the move to a playoff would actually incentivize teams to play better shcedules as opposed to the opposite. Maybe Im crazy but a 11-1 team that plays a good OOC schedule looks a hell of alot better than an 11-1 team that play Charleston Southern, Miami(OH) and the Citadel.

It doesnt. The playoff is geared the best record. So 11-1 will always go before 10-2 even if 10-2 played TWICE as tough a schedule.
