Wisconsin is stepping up in class of opponent. Wisconsin's defense is based upon playing 12 bad teams. If Ohio State played the same schedule, Ohio State would have been 12-0.

Wisconsin's opponents overall record
69 wins
76 losses

Ohio State's opponents overall record
77 wins
66 losses

Washington and Wisconsin had the two easiest power 5 schedules. Washington lost twice, somehow losing to ASU. Washington lost both games on the road. Wisconsin did not lose against their easy schedule, they are due.

Wisconsin only played shitty teams on the road. Ohio State can look shitty(Iowa, Oklahoma) but Ohio State has a pretty good coach, not a shitty coach.

Wisconsin's best road win is a 5-7 Indiana or a 5-7 Minnesota.
Ohio State's best road win is 8-4 Michigan.

Ohio State should win, but Wisconsin has a chance to win.

Wisconsin only has one player that can win a game for them, Taylor. The QB Hornibrook will not win a game, but he won't lose a game.

Ohio State has JT Barrett and Dobbins.

Barrett 33 TDs, 7 INTs
Hornibrook 21 TDS, 13 INTs

Ohio State 80% chance to win
Wisconsin 20% chance to win

Final Score

Ohio State 27
Wisconsin 20

Don’t say Hornibrook can’t lose a game for them — when you avg a little over 1 interception a game against an easy schedule — he can definitely do that. Especially if Wisconsin falls behind and he has to start throwing more.

I agree on everything else though.

Traditionally people say that home field is worth 7 points in college football. Do you not think Wisconsin would have beaten Michigan or Iowa on the road?

You can also adjust the opponents’ win-loss records by the two teams’ own records. So take away a couple of wins for OSU’s opponents to make it comparable, and their opponents would be 75-68 if Ohio State had Wisconsin’s record. It’s still better, but not that much better.

Ohio State’s best wins are Penn State and Michigan State. I will grant you that Wisconsin doesn’t have these wins. But they would be favored over either team.

What you’re right about is that Ohio State should win, but Wisconsin can win. We’ll see.

Depends on where the game was. At home they could be. They might even be favored over Ohio State at Camp Randall. Don't know what the stats say, but Wisconsin has one of the biggest home and away swings in college football, IMO

I disagree, at least at home or neutral site.

You are a 7 point dog to OSU at a neutral site. It wouldn’t be much different than that if you played PSU. The teams are very similar.

If I had to rank the 3 between OSU, PSU and Wisconsin, as UM played all three. I’d actually put PSU at the top. They absolutely destroyed UM.

Obviously home field will move the line, but neutral site, no chance is Wisconsin favored over PSU.

Neutral site would be a tough one. Vegas might make that a pick em. Whatever team ended up favored it wouldn't be by much

OSU is a 7 point favorite this weekend. PSU would be the same.

If PSU and OSU played at a neutral site — that, IMO, would be a pick’em.

Penn State is another one of those teams I always breathe a sigh of relief playing them away from Beaver Stadium

I don't think that's a good barometer. You will not convince me that the Wolverines were as motivated against Penn State as they were against Ohio State.

Examples?
Worst call I saw was the bad spot that would have given scUM a first down on 3rd down. Instead, they had to punt. I would have felt terrible about it if it weren't for the fact that Higdon tackled Worley in the backfield, preventing him from making the tackle.

This is the type of point I was trying to make earlier. Trustme was bitching up a storm last year until I broke down the game film and found multiple non-calls for michigan. This shit happens every game, but he and MnB are acting like it's all just against michigan. I'm assuming this is what you were talking about:

We played them in a nationally televised road game, at night, after we had lost a game and couldn’t afford to lose another. They absolutely destroyed us. While I agree, no game will have UM more motivated than OSU, but PSU did whatever they wanted on UM.

When we play OSU I’m not overly concerned with their passing game — McSorley passed for almost as many yards as OSU had total against UM AND they also rushed for 225 yards. Could just be a matchup issue , but offensively, PSU was by far, the best UM faced this year.

Of course home field advantage is huge. So that plays into it as well. I just know my ass still hurts from that game:lol:

I still think it's a stupid barometer.

I watched the Penn State/OSU game and it wasn't nearly as close as the score would indicate. OSU nearly doubled Penn's total yards.

If we would've just let our kicker boot the hell out of it straight down the field on each kickoff, we win that game by 2+ TDs.

But right, only calls went against michigan...

Here is the difference:
You have video of a blatant hold, where the OSU guy literally continues to hold on when Hurst turns to run away. You get a 23 yard gain by Haskins and 1st and goal from the 1 yard line, instead of 3rd and 18 from the 33.

I haven’t seen the video of the Higdon tackle (if you have it, Please post it — a screen shot doesn’t do anything. But saying he did tackle him, what did UM gain? We punted a few yards closer, because they blew the spot?

And ask yourself this — the last two years, you can count a half dozen times where the Fox and ABC announcers have called out the refs for terrible calls or missed calls against UM. How many times have you heard them say OSU was screwed by a call or non-call against UM?

And it is a OSU grad who is usually the one saying UM got screwed. In the end, we just didn’t win, but it’d be nice to have a controversial call go in our favor once? Every time it seems to be against us and it is especially so against OSU the last two years.

There were at least two that I vaguely recall in last week's game where Klatt thought the call was missed that benefited scUM. Not going to rewatch the game again to find them, but they were there.
