Hopefully he has a change of heart.

But really, he's not a franchise center/big man, so I don't know how big of a market he thinks there is for him.

It would be great if he and Dwightmare could coexist on the floor for like 8-10 minutes a night while one of them is holding down the 5 for the entire game.

If someone is dumb enough to take his contract this will look like Houston will play hardball during the negotiations.

I don't get what his issue is. You're making a ton of money (overpaid big time) and you're now playing on a team who are contenders at least to make a run in the playoffs.

He avg 30 MPG last season....Now with Howard that may drop to about 22-25 MPG but who cares?

You have to give credit to Asik though, for wanting the minutes. Some would be fine with just collecting the check for playing less minutes than expected.

If his game was as big as his heart than there would be no need for Duhwhite to be here.

Like me....He does know that if they trade him it will probably be to a shitty team right?

Let's think about this now.

1) Playing 7-10 MPG fewer per game while playing for a contender

or

2) Playing/Starting for 30 MPG for a shitty team?

I'll choose option 1 everyday

the cap hit was spread out though.......so even though he is getting paid 5 mil,the cap hit for rockets is 8.7mil

and when he is paid 15 mil the cap hit will still be 8.7 mil.......not sure how this will change if he gets traded but if the the cap hit stays the same i am sure teams would love to have him

He'll make 5.25mil this upcoming season,14.9mil the following season and become a UFA in the summer of 2015.

Not that crazy considering what other C's are getting. Especially a fuckin' offensive stiff like Tyson Chandler

Scenario 1 makes it sound as if the 2 players are going to be close to splitting minutes evenly. Dwight on the floor for 32-35mins a game is the better bet. So Asik would be getting like 15-16mins a game.

Might not get the hype of some C's around the league but he is a garbage man, no low post game but can catch and finish strong at the rim. I think a lot of teams would be interested in him after a 10 points, 12 rebounds per game season.

I think against certain teams they may play them together for a few minutes like Memphis, LAC, NYK (when they have Amare/Chandler on the court), and etc

Dwight Howard averages 36 minutes per game throughout his career. Asik will be playing more like 12 minutes a game... thats a pretty huge drop for a guy that played 30 a game last year. I don't blame him one bit, I'd do the same thing in his position. Most competitors would if their minutes were gonna get cut 60%

No way will he avg 12 MPG

If Dwight's getting his 36 he will average about 12. 36+12=48. The whole team is gonna be predicated on small ball with shooters and toss it into dwight. they aren't gonna play a lineup with both bigs except for very rare occasions.

To me, it obvious they dont want teams to have leverage when they try to negotiate a trade. Due to the fact everyone knows he doesnt want to be there so they will try to low ball houston. I think it would be wise to trade him to the pelicans for anderson who played well along side howard and they need a center
