And exactly how much time can you guarantee that Elliot will play w/ Romo given the injuries?

Not my point. I'm saying you can't fault AP for not being in a super bowl when he's played 1 year with a QB that good.

I'm not saying AP single handedly took them there. But no player does. I don't think a RB like Elliott is a good value at 4 but saying he can't carry you to a super bowl isn't the reason. A CB or a DE isn't gonna carry you to a super bowl either yet there have been great CBs, DEs, and RBs on championship teams.

I don't know...Von Miller singlehandedly won that SB last season.

Yeah I buy that. I also buy Dad's comment that some day a RB will lead a team to a title. But let's not pretend this guy is Jim Brown. He will do well, everyone does behind that OL which again is why I don't understand the need for this pick.

I don't think that RBs will lead teams to winning the Super Bowl anymore. The rules don't set up for that. The league is more exciting through the air and that means money.

He was the best player on the field, but I think there were a lot of guys on that D playing a role. Cant give him all the credit - thats an all time great defense as a whole.

All fair points throughout this thread. If I was drafting for Dallas it would have been either Buckner or Ramsey at 4 and Spence in the 2nd. I don't hate our draft but I just would have done it differently. McFadden and Morris were more than fine as the backs, but if Elliott is as good as advertised he will make the receivers jobs easier, and Dallas could not run the ball at the goal line last year. Nor really sure where the fault lies there, play calling, bad QB, or the RB'same but I thin Morris would have helped. Smith is the hard pick to really embrace, if he returns to health he's a steal, if not he's a wasted 2nd Rd pick, besides great or not I feel we needed immediate help on D, we didn't get that IMO. I still like Dallas chances with the FA's picked and the return of three key injured players. Key is keeping Romo upright and that's something I think Elliott helps at. He knows how to pass block.

Yeah, that is the part that makes no sense. A RB at 4 is a win now pick but Smith in the second is all about the future considering he won't play this season. It was a draft of contradictions.
