Fitzmagic perhaps. LOL... How hilarious is this that he truly is an option....
I was thinking David Carr is a FA and he and Chuckie have had incidents.

Walter says that he's coming out and that the jets will take him. Talk about a career ending place to go...........

Walter is saying that the Patriots will pick 11th:

patriotsb_logo.gif
New England Patriots: Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama
Alabama_logo.gif

The Patriots have the worst receiving corps in the NFL. The only viable player they have at the position is Julian Edelman, who will be 35 next offseason.

Jaylen Waddle looks to be the next great Alabama receiver to enter the NFL. He's one of the quickest players in college football.
There is talk that if the Jets have the #1 pick Lawrence may stay another year, that was floating around the old inter web last week.

I think Waddle broke his ankle two weeks ago so he would be a perfect pick for BB. A broken WR taken early that is bound to fail because the Pats selected him. No thanks trade out and find me another Vince Wilfork.

According to just about every reliable source, the Patriots will have at least four picks in the third round.

Their own, wherever it falls.

3rd Compensatory - Tom Brady
3rd Compensatory - Jamie Collins
3rd Compensatory - Karl Van Noy
5th Compensatory - Danny Shelton
5th Compensatory - Elandon Roberts
5th Compensatory - Ted Karras

All six are starting and if that holds true through the end of the season, then they'll all be 3rd Round Compensatory eligible.
They'll all be trad-able also. If BB had seven picks in the third round round, he could easily trade them for 2022 second round picks.

That would be a solid pick. Still would need someone to throw him the ball... OL to protect said thrower... AND of course for him to fall into the Patriots lap, which probably won't happen as I don't see him slipping that low

Though as you @YankeeRebel mentioned, Waddle is out for the season with an ankle... Perfect reason why you don't have our star WR returning kicks (but he is soo explosive) so that could help the Patriots

Is Walter psychic? If the answer is no then where he "says" they pick is meaningless.

Do you see a pattern here?

Easley and Harry were 32nd picks and if you average those picks with the other very late picks you'd see them all being okay. I've seen Mankins "redrafted" as high as 3rd. Also you can't just limit this to first round picks since a guy like Gronk redrafts to #3 and Garoppolo redrafts that high too, and you get Malcom Butler who redrafted as a first rounder.

I get the point that this is about selections taken in the first round, but you can't take a single metric like that without considering the grade of the entire personnel process. Then you need to grade that process versus every other team to grade on a bell curve.

I suspect the team that has won half of the last six Super Bowls and has been to 8 of the last 9 AFCCGs grades out pretty high.

Does anybody here believe NE will resign Cam Newton or that Jarred Stidham will be the starter next year? I'm going with no on both.

I didn't believe they would sign Cam ever, but here we are. It's best not to "believe" anything can or cannot happen...

about the best they might do is 3rd or 4th which might get them a QB

what good is a WR without a QB?

Just read that Coach B hasn’t drafted a player that’s reached the Pro Bowl since 2013(Jamie Collins).

Give me the top 10-15 pick for a change. Every once in a while it's nice to minamize the risk in drafting. Even if it's a lineman take him. As long as it's not a typical BB selection selecting someone who's had multiple knee surgeries and will start the year on IR.

After the NE is poised to turn it around quickly. 8 returning covid deserters. 11 draft picks, 3 of them at least 3rd round comp picks. Plus a butt load of cash for the first time in years.
Of course they need to find a decent QB.

I know it's a technicality, but Malcom Butler was a pro bowler Though not drafted there was a process that decided he should be added to the team, and then not cut the way UDFs all "should be", then given serious practice time, play time, then the right kind of play time.... until he became a pro bowler.

In 2014 the Pats drafted Dominique Easley. Had they drafted Butler there (besides a lot of head scratching on draft day) we'd be looking back and saying "good pick". Though he didn't last long and flamed out quick, he shined really bright for a couple years as demonstrated with a pro bowl.

Looking back at that 2014 SB game clinching pick, does anyone other than "scrapper" actually make that read and reaction in time to make that play? Bevis Island went to church for a week straight after that to say thanks for not having that play go towards him.

Would anyone be pissed if any of these guys were signed for 2-3 years?

Deshaun Watson
Dak Prescott
Ryan Fitzpatrick

All three will be free agents after the 2020 season. Prescott might be a real gamble, but he also might be a great future. Watson will cost huge buck. Fitzpatrick would be a great teacher For a Justin Fields type draft pick,
