If PIT can beat both Indy & Buffalo then they will vault themselves back near the top of the AFC picture.

Might be catching a break in IND...Luck in concussion protocol. Was really wanting to see where the DEF was on the road....but they are desperate need to take advantage if he doesn't play.

So who does that leave as their backup QB now that Hasselbeck retired?

Scott Tolzien is the reported back up and they are prepping him to start. His back up is unknown right now....I still wouldn't be surprised if Luck is suited up but on a short week, maybe he won't get cleared....a lot of guys are missing an entire week.

Keughley might miss a couple of weeks or more.

Pretty sure that's the guy that played in GB for a few years. Don't recall anything special about him. Doesn't really matter who the QB is though, the defense needs to play with more consistency or any Joe-shmo QB could carve them up.

Agreed...as I've been saying...Burns and Davis are going to make mistakes, hopefully not repeating the same ones, but it should not deter Butler...he needs to continue to bring the heat. That's the only way this DEF is going to be effective.

Week 12 resulted in a little more separation with CIN losing in BAL.

PIT and BAL are tied with 6-5 records and CIN is now 3-7-1. I didn't see much of the BAL-CIN game but the Bengals OFC didn't look all that great as one might have expected. DEF hung tough but I think they might be done unless AJ Green is back soon.

Ravens host the Dolphins this week and PIT host the NYG...not much to say other than they've got to keep winning. A season ending tie with a split with the Ravens does not favor the Steelers right now. BAL is currently 4-0 (PIT is 2-1) in the DIV...their last two DIV games are @ PIT and @ CIN.

Barring some meltdowns out west from KC or DEN, AND MIA, it's starting to look more and more that the AFCN winner will be the only playoff team.

Remaining schedules for the 2-horse race in the AFCN...

Baltimore... vPHI, @PIT, @CIN... Philly is still clawing & scraping at remaining in the NFC WC hunt, but they are pretty much holding onto the edge of the cliff with their pinky fingers. Ravens shouldn't have any problems dispatching them to the abyss. That'll put them in good shape to unseat Pittsburgh on Xmas.

Pittsburgh... @CIN, vBAL, vCLE... The Cincy game is going to be brutal. Hate to draw the Bungals this late in the season again with Cincy having nothing much to play for other than aspirations of hurting Pittsburgh in the long run. Something just feels wrong about this game, but lets hope that history doesn't repeat itself. If they can escape that game unhindered, then they will face off with the Ravens next at home. That game will have major playoff implications. Win or Colbert will have to start mocking draft boards.

Both teams need to essentially win out to claim the division. The X-mas game will be the division championship. Expect to see some fireworks these next few weeks. Time for Pittsburgh to nut up or shut up.

I'm concerned but not really worried about CIN...concerned because they are a pretty good DEF, but if the OL continues to play at the level they have been the last month or so, the Steelers should win. Haley/Ben are starting to spread the ball around again, and the guys are responding and of course Bell is playing at a high level and he wasn't in the 1st game.

On DEF...this is not the same DEF CIN faced in week 2.

I've said many times that Tomlin's teams play better when their backs are against the wall...he has a chance now to prove he can be a good front runner coach...just keep winning!
