Anyone think that ref no call was right in the spurs game?

I watched the play. Waiters def pushed him but Ginoble flopped like crazy. I thought they both did something wrong canceling it out. Ginoble was way to close and looked over the line, waiters pushed him but then ginoble had a ridiculous flop

IMO it was a good no call, discuss

Agree & I like how the Spurs didn't use it as an excuse (no doubt if this happened to the Mavs Cuban would have never shut up). Also - what is the deal with that Spurs fan grabbing Adams on the last play? This guy should be banned from the arena if he can't control himself.

In the sense that there seemed to be an equal number of missed calls on that last sequence, it evened out for both teams and all you can ask is that the calls even out and therefore, neither team can blame the refs it was a good no call.

What I have a problem with (and what is unlikely to ever change) is this notion that the refs swallowing their whistles late in the game is somehow "letting the players decide the game." It's not. Calling the game the same way from beginning to end and what's a foul early in the game still being a foul at the end of the game is letting the players decide the game.

A guy committing a dumb foul at a crucial part of the game is still the players deciding the game, just as a player committing a turnover at a crucial part of the game or hitting a big shot is still the players deciding the game.

It was a foul.

But, had Mills not air balled, we wouldn't even be discussing this.

Had the Spurs hit a number of missed shots, we wouldn't be talking about this.

The Thunder won...nothing's gonna change that.

Manu crossed the inbound line before being pushed. Should've been a tech on him

Should have been a delay of game. I remember when players used to do this all the time to try to find out what play was going to be run by the opposition. Unless the rule has changed, I think it should have been a delay of game on Manu.

Please! His foot barely hit the line and that is debatable with replay. How in the hell refs supposed ti see that in real time? The push off was clear and should've been called.

In the official rules it says that if it occurs in the last 2 minutes of a game or overtime... it results in a technical foul.

Not sure I've ever seen that called, though.

They do it all the time and never call it. I really don't understand why. It gives the defense a clear advantage

Spurs had a chance to win the game despite the refs. Don't know why Manu decided to make that pass instead of going for the shot himself. Looked like he was in a good position to do it.

Charles Barkley after the show called a friend who was or is a referee in the NBA. He could not disclose the name of the referee, but says that the no call was wrong and it should have been a foul with a technical. A technical would have given possession to the Spurs who would now be 2-0, but if the Spurs are champions, they will overcome and win the series. There are always going to be controversial calls and that's the reason that they have a 7 game series.

Waiters didn't foul Ginobili because he stepped on the line - he fouled him because he took his arms and lunged at Ginobili and intentionally knocked the guy down. Granted he is a master a flopping, but Waiters move was a non-basketball move and should have been called, but the Spurs are not going to lose the series over one game

So exactly what I said last night lol. If the ref properly called the delay of game on Manu, everything else is erased because OKC would have gotten the inbound it again.

LUSC insisted that it was not delay of game on Ginobli.

Love it when I'm right
