I hope Armstead turns into a real impact player, otherwise we really blew it with that pick
I agree, The positive Armstead was graded the best player on the Dline for the 49ers when he played. All the metrics stuff. So signs point that he should at least be solid to good player with a chance to be really good.

Dont get me wrong Armstead might be fine with us but Peters was a need and was still a good pick if we went that way. its not like he was a reach pick(J. Ward pick). I still wont understand that one. Look who went right after him. Super bowl champ Bradley Roby.

I like Armstead, I think he'll be a solid player once he settles in...but we had some serious question marks at corner and went elsewhere...this is why I lament on the pick. Time will tell I guess.

I want to sign CB Smith. 6'3 210lbs. Perfect for us.

can't help wonder at 29 years of age? he'll be fine this coming season, but talking about the next 2-3 or however long he signs for?

how often do we go to those 'press' plays?

Smith is not with the team and Kap may be gone too. Rather talk about how the Niners can improve this upcoming season.

Good to see Kap coming back. sure he had a poor season last season but the whole organization was in poor shape. I expect to see him as the starting QB and running Chip Kelly's offense effectively.

Hoping for a good draft.

We don't really know Kap is coming back. A lot can happen between now and April 1st up through Sept 1st. I actually don't really believe in Baalke's public pronouncements. It could be nothing but posturing at this point.

will lay off on Kaep, but no doubt we need a good draft. Not expecting all 12 picks to stick but say similar to the 2011 class.

At this point it doesn't appear to be QB or pass rusher, to me anyway? So next i'm hoping for an OT since those are hard to obtain. As Denver proved, you can rush from BOTH sides to disrupt the QB. If Stanley isn't worth it, don't force OT.

Still expecting us to sign a free agent "stop gap", or "bridge" OG? But if not, I'd even be ok drafting a top OG in Round 2. Someone like Whitehair who also plays LT, he MIGHT be clear value then?

With Kelly as coach, I believe he is going to take a long, hard look at the O'line. I expect him to draft a couple "universal" type lineman. Athletic types that can be interchangeable. It may take a year or two to get the players he wants but he will get them. I'm going to wait until after the combine and individual players workouts before I make a solid prediction about the draft. It's still a long way off and there are other needs besides linemen.

agree we shouldn't expect "instant offense", Kelly just doesn't have the QB and O-line yet.

Agree. Baalke isn't going to tip his hand. This way Kap has some trade value if he is to be traded. I don't believe what he says. I still think it's best to move on from Kap.

Watching Hard Knocks on HBO...not sure that anyone has thought about past the failed hire...but I'm still sad that we didn't get Vrabel for the D coordinator...he's so hard on players, so knowledgeable about defense, and so fair and motivating at the same time. Just a few years out of the game playing at a pro bowl level...he resonates a truth and leadership second to none...mark my words he will be a HC in the next 2-4 years.

Adam Schefter:

Former 49ers OT Anthony Davis, who abruptly retired last June, will apply for reinstatement and wants to play in 2016, per league sources.
