Just because this thread was repeated, felt this should go with it and let the prior thread go.

"(Drops are) not all a receiver's fault... because he wanted to run before catching it, because the defense distracted him"? How is that NOT the receiver's fault? What about bad decisions to throw into coverage "because the QB didn't want to get sacked" or "because he got distracted by the pass rush"? Neither should excuse them.

"If the defender was there a half second before, the defender would have knocked the ball free and it would have been called a 'defended pass,' not a 'dropped pass.'" This one is more reasonable but saying that the ball could have been PD, shouldn't excuse a drop any more than an INT could have been an INC/COMP/TD if the defender were there half a second later.

This goes to ALL QBs, not just Smith.

Tebow had the 6th best QBR this week.

His rating was roughly the equivalent of what Smith would have had without the INT.

The best thing about Tebow is the youth of today can see what the QB position looked like in the 1940's.
