No, it was the other bama guy that said it wasn't punishment. 4D20 doesn't believe the schools should do anything other than try to help these poor misunderstood young men. Doing things like suspending them doesn't help them properly grow and learn from their mistakes. Don't punish them, teach them how to use the uber app instead. DV? Show them how to use soap in a pillow case to leave less evidence. Life lessons are all that matter. Leave the punishing to only the always fair legal system.

If you were referring to me, I said that suspension should not be mandatory. Let the coaches handle it as they see fit. The coach will know more about the situation and player than we will. And I am an Auburn guy from Alabama.

And I've never said suspend everyone. In fact, I clearly said it has to be up to the teams as no one wants to give the NCAA more power. They fuck up what power they already have.

There is no need to suspend Hand given that he managed to pass out before putting the car in drive. Coaches and schools very much should take everything into account before handing out penalties. All I said is they very much have the right and duty to hand out more than what the legal system does because of the impact those actions have on the team/school. It is punishing for a different reason. And I said to bandwagonfanwhatever that suspension is a real penalty that does have real impact on players. The peer pressure alone is huge.

for the record, I said on page 2 he wasn't going to be suspended. It's just not how Saban does things, so it was pretty obvious to me.

If it had been someone like Tony Brown, whom has had troubles in the past with attitude and such, then it would have been another story. But even Tony would be a little surprising at this point since by all accounts he "gets it" now.
