easily the worst stretch of baseball they've played all year. We've got a -24 run differential since the ASB. It doesn't get any easier with the Rays in Fenway, though we do have the Orioles, Twins and Rangers coming up. I still think this team can make the playoffs, but they're in some trouble right now. Hopefully Sale's return and Schwarber's arrival can help the rotation and lineup.

Pretty weird to think the Sox won the season series against the Jays because it sure as hell didn't feel like it. Jays outscored us by 29 runs in the season series.

this team overachieved. Still a pretty decent team, but they're +5 wins above their pythag W-L and they're 21-14 in one-run games. I think there's some luck involved. They've got a -12 run differential since the beginning of June.

I agree they've overachieved nearly all season now they're underachieving. I have no vision of a WS from this team, I'd just like to see them right the ship in time to help keep the Yankees out of contention.

the bullpen's implosion isn't too surprising. Even before July it felt like they were walking a tightrope with all the walks/hits and got lucky stranding runners. Couple that with the rotation struggling and forcing the bullpen earlier into the game and you get this.
