Billy Beane made it work for Scott Hatteberg.......
When Hatteberg came up with the Sox in the 90’s we used to sing a song for him to the tune of the Rolling Stones’ “Shattered”:

Sha doobie, Hatte-berg
Sha doobie, Hatte-berg Hatte-berg

That’s all I got here.

I’m just glad the Yankees got Gallo and Rizzo instead of Scherzer and Turner. I’ll say that much.

Yeah, the Dodgers needed them more….amazing no one complains about their payroll…..

No Padres fans on here to complain, I guess. But the Dodgers are just a player development factory. It’s amazing that over the last several years they have been able to trade for Darvish, Machado, Mookie and now Scherzer/Turner and still have good prospects left.

P.S. The Yankees needed those guys just as much as the Dodgers(if not more), but didn’t have the prospects to match LA. Turner would have fixed that whole lineup on his own.

no worries we get harvey instead

Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports that the Rockies have "no plans" to trade Jon Gray or Daniel Bard prior to the deadline.

I was surprised a month ago to learn that not only had Bard succeeded in his come back, he was actually moderately successful. I don't think I could stomach him back on the Sox though. Too many bad memories of him getting lit up.

I had no clue he was still pitching. I remember 2 things-He was Down's binky, and Teixeira owned him.

Yankees current 40 man has Rizzo listed as #44 and Gallo as #13.

Won't stay that way, but would be hilarious if it did.

I think JA Happ can be had.

Please?

Cardinals acquired LHP J.A. Happ and LHP Evan Sisk from the Twins for RHP John Gant and cash considerations.
