no place in baseball for intentionally hitting the catcher in the head with your bat or intentionally throwing your bat towards 3B. What if that bat hit him in the face. He's a low life piece of shit.

Hate seeing guys use the bat as a weapon. If you have a problem with me drop the bat and put your fist up

lol I think you are over reacting a little bit. Sure, Machado was an idiot but at least hes not standing around taking shit.

Donaldson is the one who needs to get his fucking ass beat. That guy is a straight up clown. Sucks as the A's rarely have guys.

I see Jaso commenting on Machado's age and saying "hes 21 and acts like hes some 10 year veteran". Then you have Donaldson who waited til 26 to finally get good, and now acts like a jackass routinely himself. I like the young kid not backing down. He could have carried himself better obviously but still.

And as for the throwing the bat, his placement was just as intentional as the act. It was merely to send a very original message. Havn't seen something like that since Torri throwing the baseball!!!

And lastly, ironic that John fucking Jaso :L is the one giving advice on when you are "allowed" to act like a vet in this league. Manny is an all star. Jaso would need 9/10ths of the league to get malaria for the entire first half, and only then will he maybe make an all star team.

Anyways. That's my thought.

Who wants that 3rd outfield spot in the All-Star game? As of june 8th -

1. Jose Bautista, Blue Jays: 2,135,223
2. Mike Trout, Angels: 1,945,170
3. Melky Cabrera, Blue Jays: 1,096,784
4. Adam Jones, Orioles: 820,336
5. Jacoby Ellsbury, Yankees: 813,357

Derek Jeter poised to start as Jose Bautista nabs AL All-Star vote lead | MLB.com: News

Should probably be Bautista/Trout/Jones right now IMO.

And speaking of Jones, he's on pace for 16 walks in nearly 700 PA. Jones is still a damn good player, but could you imagine how much better he'd be if he had any semblance of plate discipline? He'd probably be a legit MVP candidate.

You're right on that. When he's hitting, a fan will "love his aggressiveness". When he's NOT, "he's hacking at everything". He's the kind of player you can have a love/hate relationship with, several times over the course of a season.

Carlos Gomez has brought his walk rate from 4.4% in 2012 to 7.3% this year, on pace for 48 walks. His career high is 37 last year. He does strikeout a lot still and he is riding a high BABIP (even for someone that fast, that .378 figure will probably drop), but even then, who would have thought he'd go from being one of the worst hitters in the league to this? Scouts were praising his raw power back in '06, but it took a while for the power to develop.

His OPS has skyrocketed from earlier in his career. Just goes to show, it *can* be done.

Perhaps they're on a bad track? Shutout by the Twins today, at home no less.

only 20,681 fans arrived. 42% capacity. I expected more being in first place.

What a shame.

I expect more then a 3rd place team playing .500 ball with the massive payroll you have

The Yankees are keeping the seat warm for the Jays as they begin their downward spiral to reality. enjoy 1st place while it lasts.

Third place is pretty darn good considering the rotation we have right now.
