Boston 1st team in history to come in last place, win a WS and then finish last again. Crazy.

They got an MLB pitcher which is something

I freaking love these big leaguer for big leaguer deals.

Tired of seeing great players being traded for some prospect I never heard of

yes but they gave up a CY Young Pitcher for a RP turned starter and is an Avg Starter. Trade makes no sense. The good news is Yankees have a shot to Sign him after this year. TB really screwed up. THats not like them. The best player in this trade might be this 18 year old SS who is about 4 years away they say.

BTW the espn crew agreed with you Purguy. They said if this is all that they were getting back they could've just waited until the offseason and done it if a better deal did not come up

Tanaka if he comes back but outside of him you are correct

Very true, I didn't include him because I was thinking he was done for the year along with Sabathia but forgot that he was trying to wait as long as possible before deciding on surgery.

As for the O's, hate it when games like that get away. We had our opportunity in the 12th but Schoop unfortunately couldn't come through with a clutch base hit or a walk. Don't fault our pitching staff at all as I thought they pitched a great game tonight.

Yanks need to wake the hell up. Jays & O's are playing well so we can't afford to lose series.

We need to sweep Boston

maybe I'm getting ahead of myself. TB will be fighting for last to. I still don't get the Price trade. They usually do well in trades. They really didn't get much here.

It'll be fun to see who can lose more games... Boston will be using these last 54 games as a tryout for next year. Expect to see a lot of their stacked farm system given a taste of the bigs.

Side note... The teams with the worst ten records have their 1st round picks protected... If they sign a free agent that received a qualifying offer they lose their second pick. (Interesting fact, knowing that Oakland gave Boston it's sandwich 'competivie balance' pick with the Lester trade)...

They won't lose on purpose, but I don't think they want to win many more games... Worst-to-First-to-Worst... then back to first? ...How fun....

Its all about control Smyley isnt a FA till 2019 and they knew they were losing Price in 2016 but i agree Tigers were the big winners now they can afford to let Max go next year:suds::suds:

Plus they will get a Top 5 pick in the Draft.
