he's given up a whopping 23 hits this year

Talking only about his wildness issue he developed earlier this year. He has lowered it down, but since the AS break Betances is still walking 3.92 batters per 9. That is better then it was in June, but still needs to get it lower.

welp... Fantastic wedding weekend for my buddy! Drunk and all...

Come back and hear the Red Sox get swept! WTF?!!! Hanley sucking balls still, yet he remains in the clean-up spot... Come on Farrell!

He also seems to have gotten past his long ball issues. He's only given up 8 home runs over that span. His season stats aren't going to look great, but he could play a big role in the postseason.

Pomeranz limited the damage there when it easily could have been 3 or more runs.. Now it's time for the offense to step up....

Something has to give... Sadly it appears the AL East might be giving

Orioles are now a winning team again?

How the hell did that happen. :noidea:

I have no clue, other than Tim Beckham was simply the spark and good luck charm trade that made things click.

Now, I probably cursed them again to go and collapse yet again.

I think part of it is, at least during the Red Sox series, was that our pitching staff actually resembled major leaguers for a change and held their offense in check. If that can continue to happen, we might have a shot at getting that 2nd wild card slot. I just don't think that it'll amount to much if we win the play in game since Houston had their way with us for the most part in both series we played against them.

A complete game 1-hitter shutout by an Orioles pitcher???

okay...sure why not.

We get to see a complete game about once every 3 years it seems.

Orioles decided they don't want to lose anymore.

This wild card race is gonna stay a mess

Nah, they'll throw it all away once they go back on the road. They have the 3rd best record at home, but 9th worst on the road. It's the same story for the last 5 years.

6 game win streak is huge right now.

Only the Twins have been consistent this month and even we 1. Blow games routinely to keep us from having firm WC control(and we never have comebacks to even it out) and 2. Struggle with the goddamn White Sox

Fucking Brad Brach
How many times does he allow a soul crushing run late in the game.
6 blown saves and another 4 blown late 1 run leads that were not technically saves.

Anyone who watches the Orioles knows his raw stats are not telling the real story.
He allows runs and blows saves/holds usually at the worst possible emotional time for Baltimore.

I really want to see Castro and Bleir getting more chances in the 8th.
But. a win is a win.

The trade for Tim Beckham (widely criticized) seems to have completely re-energized them this last month.

I hope Girardi know if the Yanks miss out on the real playoffs (not that 1 game playoffs trash) then he will be looking for a new job this winter.
