Montgomery was just recalled from Triple-A and is the Yankees' scheduled starter on Sunday. Given the injuries to CC Sabathia and Masahiro Tanaka, the club can ill-afford to lose another starting pitcher to injury. The team should provide an update on his status shortly.

this discussion about pitchers winning MVP is dumb. There's a very good case to be made for Sale being the most valuable player in the AL right now (along with Judge, Altuve and Trout (even with all that time he missed)). MVP should go to the best player in the league. If it's a pitcher, then vote for them.
