And that is where u guys are wrong. Doesn't k/9 tell a different story than k/BB. They both include strikeouts but are 2 separate stats. One compliments the other but they are 2 different stats.

Yeah, K/9 doesn't examine control, so it's a completely different stat than K/BB.

ERA examines earned runs and innings. Quality Starts examines earned runs and innings. The only difference is that one is a rate stat and one is a counting stat. And that the counting stat is arbitrary.

Marginally better ERA, but in fewer innings. More Ks, but way more walks. Darvish also doesn't have a better WHIP. Sale has 10 more IP despite 1 less start.

They're all close. You might noticed I haven't dismissed any of these guys, which you guys seem so quick to do. I clearly said it's a coin flip and that any of the four (Sale, Darvish, Scherzer, Iwakuma) could rightfully and justifiably take home the hardware. Let's see how the last week plays out before we get our panties knotted, okay?

And like I said, I understand the purpose of QS just fine, and you haven't provided any insight that would further my understanding. I took a shit about an hour ago that possessed more knowledge of pitching than you possess in your entire body.

He goes further than me on that one. But... Max Scherzer wasn't driving in any of the nearly 8 runs of support he was getting for most of the season. There's a lot of grey area in Win totals in my opinion. Sometimes a higher ERA is okay, with high innings and eventual high wins. (Throwing strikes with a lead). But Ws alone, I don't put on much of a pedestal.
