1. Indians
2. Twins (they did make some good pickups to bolster their pitching staff and I expect them to contend for a WC spot, but they're still a good step or two behind the Indians imo)
3. White Sox
4. Royals
5. Tigers
no. lol

The White Sox are going to come alive ... they are a very young team that is jelling together ... they remind me of the early 1980's Tigers.

I don't think they're too far off, but the Rodon injury really hurts. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Moncada has a breakout year. There's still some upside in the rotation without him, but it remains to be seen if Fulmer has the command to remain a starter.

Tigers will be a really bad team this year. Look for the Indians to steam roll the central division

Holy shit. I logged in today to see there were five new pages over the weekend. I thought certainly there had to be some baseball talk in there. . .

Just before Opening Day Predictions

1. Indians (in a walkaway) - Still my pick for World Series Champs

From your lips to God's ears.

With this being the last year of Wahoo on the uniforms, it would be a cool send off if they could take it all.

So, here starts another season with expectations - I don't do well with those.

Yes, the biggest bitch about high expectations is you can only lose ... it is a curse and a blessing.

I was decimated when the Indians lost in the first round last year. Although I did watch the rest of the playoffs - I missed some or all of more playoff games than I have for years.

I didn't even start thinking or get excited about the upcoming season until about a month ago.

Me neither. Made 2013 all the more sweeter though. There weren't a whole lot of expectations after the monumental collapse of 2011 and going through the living meme of a manager in 2012.

The AL East is tough ... there will be disappointment there and a hard fought season!! Chris Sale sucks and I hope he falls flat out of the starting rotation, but Price and Porcello should pick up the team nicely ... looking for a big comeback season from David Price (and Miguel Cabrera).

Not me. I knew Indians would fold. They didn't want it bad enough

LOL.... Getting on 1000 posts before the season starts. Maybe 20% of it baseball-related. Shades of the Miami Vice era.

...given all the times you've watched the Tigers and Wolverines shit themselves because they didn't want it bad enough, I should have deferred to your expertise.

Well, Fulmer looks healthy and so does Miggy. I am upping my Tigers 2018 win total from 59 to 63. Just barely gonna avoid 100 losses.

The hitting is decent, and team speed is better this season. Defense is kind of a wash. Candelario improves 3B, for sure, but that means Castellanos in RF. Al Kaline says Castellanos has made tremendous progress and may have the best outfield arm on the team, but he still makes "little mistakes". Anyway, it's not like Nick is replacing a defensive stud (J.D. Martinez).

The SP rotation is below average, and the bullpen, apart from our closer, is absolute garbage. Gonna lose a ton of games in the 6th-7th-8th innings this year.
