So, the LTD is not an issue like skinsdad says. The issue is the draft compensation. The 49ers turning down a 2nd from the Pats is surprising. Should be a high 2nd round pick.

Maybe they know something about the cap that's not obvious to many, but paying Aiyuk or risk playing without him this year, Trent getting an increase and having to pay Deebo and Purdy next year will wreck this team.
Right now their cap relief valves and potential replacements are in house and their names are Cowing and Pearsall.

I saw that Trent story. Kyle looked annoyed at that press conference. I'd love to get Aiyuk in here right now, but something tells me they are going to pay him and trade Deebo in the off-season.

I don't believe that the 49ers will keep either of them, depending upon what they see in Pearsall and/or Cowing. The going rate for top starting QBs is 50M and Purdy is due next year. I don't consider him a top ranked QB but to his credit he operates well within Kyle's system.
There's no doubt in my mind that JD is the most talented of the group right now. Becoming the best is a different question that's primarily centered on his support.
More about this when it's season prediction time.
