That shuffle pass / INT was peak Bengals.
That was embarrassing. But not as embarrassing as feeling confident enough to give your kicker the FG with 7s still on the clock.

While I understand with 0 timeouts, and the ball back on the 13 yard line - the smart play probably was to kick the FG.

I argue against it simply because - they were 2-14 last year. You have nothing to lose by going for the win, and if this year is about building a base for next year, and beyond, why not start with being aggressive. Let your team know you want the win, right then and there. I think 7 seconds is enough to get a play off and a pass into the endzone with at least 1-2 seconds left on an incomplete pass. Not to mention, they have 3 large WR's in Tate, Green, and Higgins that can all high-point the ball effectively. Someone was bound to get 1-1 coverage.

But, when you play not to lose - you lose. Losers gonna lose.

I have to say, Andy Dalton would have won this game easily.

What is really sad is that despite how bad this OL is, how mismanaged the entire team is (Taylor is clueless on running a team, the DC is clueless on calling any actual scheme/defense, and the FO is clueless on how to protect the #1 asset on the team)...

Despite all of that - Burrow nearly has willed the Bengals to 3 wins. Dude is special. It's too bad he'll be an invalid soon being spoon fed by mommy and daddy. What this organization is allowing to happen to him is criminal. There is no defense for what they are allowing to happen. None.

Also - that shot was dirty and unwarranted - but the sentiment remains the same.

I'm flabbergasted that the Bengals actually seemed to have nailed this pick. Not only did the Bengals make the right pick - the pick is actually living up to - and dare I say BEYOND - expectations.

Imagine if he had a competent OL protecting him, and they didn't have to trot out a 50 year old AJ Green, but someone younger and able to actually get open.

Poor AJ - man he just got old. His injuries just completely sapped him of anything he had. He's got no speed, no explosion, no separation. I mean, if he puts on 15lbs and moves to the slot as a possession WR, he might get 2-3 more years out of the NFL - but his days of being "AJ Green" are long gone. It's a damned shame we didn't get to see his prime with a QB like Burrow who could have hit him all over the field.
