An interesting take.
An honest question: does anybody ever “get a bargain,” then gekoka?
Surely Tom Brady, “bought” for a sixth round draft choice, was worth much more than what he went for?
Are you saying that hindsight should affect his next contract?
You can absolutely get a bargain if teams are desperate. Take TB for example. They got a bargain for Antonio Brown last season.
Tom Brady wasn’t really a bargain in the draft. Based on his career in college, he was drafted where he belonged. The Patriots had a bargain for Tom for years. You base a bargain on the market value.
Sam Darnold was never going to bring in a first because he is damaged goods. He was never going to bring in a second. Teams were never that desperate.
