Always so comforting when the closer blows a save and is replaced by another guy with 5.90ERA to close it out

Lucky as I said to win it.

Verlander...strong like bull! 7 innings. 8Ks. 1 ER run. 4 hits

Tigers going for sweep tomorrow. KC dropping like a rock!

Woah there, doug. Doing exactly what we criticized KC fan for -- getting excited about a 1.5 game lead in June. The ALC is going down to September, because the Tigers are a 90-win team at best. Fortunate to survive bad bullpen outings by Krol, Al Al and Nathan over the last two games and still win. And the offense is relying on the HR too much to score.

The positive signs are the four really good starts by our pitchers over the last four games. If the starters get back to pitching like they're capable of, the team can survive a mediocre bullpen. The Tiger bullpen ERA in 2013 was something like 23rd in the league. Now -- to get the 2014 Tiger bullpen up to "mediocre" level will be a challenge.

LOL at bums... dude still at it. Royals "prospects" end up as busts more than any team... you guys have hyped trash... that is it. Hosmer is average at best.... for a first basement his offense is actually below average. Moustakas... trash... Every pitching prospect outside of Greinke has ended up in the bullpen sooner rather than later in his career... Your entire bullpen is comprised of failed starting pitching prospects...

Difference between Det and KC... Det pitching and hitting has under performed for the last month.... KC has over performed... Tigers could end up with Verlander being a number 3 starter and still have a better rotation than KC... Things balance out in the end... Shields is starting to crap his pants on the mound.. and Vargas and Guthrie will soon follow... Ventura is an injury away from the bullpen as is Duffy.... good luck.

PS... Nothing makes me happier than seeing KC fans happy to be in first for less than 48 hours in June... lets talk in Oct bums...

I love how Dayton Moore is getting Royals fans panties in a bunch by telling the media that he has the green light to add salary at the trade deadline.... lol... I can't wait to see what move he makes... I am sure he is going to swing a real blockbuster. Best part is the fans there buy it even after hearing the same bs for years and never actually landing anything of substance... the biggest trade in KC recent history is the Shields trade and that has done about 0 so far outside of land you guys another supplemental pick in next years draft for you to find your next busted talent.

How is Bubba Starling doing lately?

LOL... Royals "prospect" rankings are great.. but the Tigers who have a poor system according to Bums seem to put out equal talent... notice the tigers have 3/5 of their rotation from their system? KC - 2/5.... No MLB team would take Moustakas over Castellanos... And that is with out drafting in the first round for 3 years 2010, 2011, 2012.... LOL

Oh gosh, you're really sensitive..! are you female?

- The Tigers rotation is average. How you can sit there and say they're one of the best is comical. Tigers starters have been giving up anywhere from 7-10 ER's a start lately. Team ERA for starters is 3.98 which is 8th best out of 15 AL teams.

- Over the last 7 days, worst in the AL. 5.32 team ERA 42 ER in 71 IP

- The best hitter on the planet is Troy Tulowitzki, not on the Tigers..

- As far as saying it would take a modern day miracle, I was exaggerating my statements. This is a smack talk thread, people like you need to stop taking stuff to heart. Where is your sense of humor?

- Credibility and fear. I'm not here to gain any credibility from Tigers fans or anyone for that matter. It's an internet forum folks! I don't take this seriously and I'll never meet anyone from here. Second, as a diehard Yankees fan I don't 'fear' any team in baseball. Every time you say I fear the Tigers you make me laugh, literally.

- I'm as real as a baseball fan you'll come across, the difference is I like to talk smack and have fun during the long season. As I said earlier, try and pull your sense of humor from your ass, get a beer and some nuts, and have fun! Don't take what I say so seriously.

You are pretty ignorant arent you? Nice sexist remark to start your rambling. Im sorry, was your comment about the tigers supposed to be funny? What a rant, and Im sensitive. I would take the tigers rotation over just about any rotation in baseball, except cardinals and dodgers. So yeah miracle man, keep providing your brilliant insight into the nuances of baseball. Every forum needs a punching bag I suppose.

Just not a #2 on any team he's actually played for. I don't like the imaginary starter rankings personally. If Fister is your #2, you probably aren't stacked in the starter department.

Clearly you have been spoiled by the tigers rotation. They had three legitimate number one starters last year. Fisters numbers are and have always been indicative of a number two starter.

If Fister is your number 3... you are probably a playoff team.

lol, wonder who...dougie Sr returns

once again your insite is dead on and great..the Royals pitchers are "scared", the Royals team era hasn't been near as good as the tigers in 2013 and 2014. The Tigers failed pitching prospects couldn't even contribute to their bullpen, errr, maybe they are, I don't know what prospects they have produced other than Verlander, Porcello, oh my bad Avila too. Royals have seen 1st place so many times in the last 5 years after April 7th its pretty common, KC fans shouldn't be excited to finally get the big payroll team.

Thanks again for your amazing insite, I think I will pass on future brilliance

the Tigers have a poor system according to everyone in mlb baseball, in the past and currently, I just happen to agree with the professionals..but you spin it how you want. All you have to do is look at all the draft picks of both teams over the last 20 years, its not hard.

No MLB team would take Avila over Perez, no team would take anyone in the Tigers bullpen over Holland, no team in MLB would take Smyly over Ventura or Duffy and arguably Porcello too, no team would take Jackson/Dirks over Gordon, its almost a toss up between Grienke/Verlander..Grienke is still pitching at a high level, might end up with a better career. no need to go furthe back than mid 2000's..the tigers just get worse with picks before then...Verlander he has been the saving grace even in tigers draft history..do you really want to play "spin the info"....your actually getting quite boring.

lol...of course have to explain things to you again and again...The Royals haven't seen 1st place after april 7thish in over 5 years or longer...of course the Royals fans or fans of any team with that kind of stretch would be excited, happy for finally getting into 1st place at any point past may. The orginal statement was called "sarcasm"..just look up the word.

The Royals wouldn't have seen the last two seasons without trading for Shields/Davis, a .235 hitting OF who gets injuried wouldn't have helped at all.

now that was dead on, he was a #4 maybe ONLY on the Tigers with the best rotation in baseball at the time.

Every team has its homer fan... I guess this guy is the Royals... Dude talks about the Royals like they have won the division or made the playoffs since 1985.

Fun things that we have now that were not around the last time the Royals finished a division in first place :

Cell Phones
digital camera
tv's without knobs on them
laptop computers
internet **** (royals fans only refuge after their team is eliminated from playoff contention)

A lot of teams would take porcello over duffy or ventura. And Smyly is on par with both... Have either completed an entire season in the MLB? Smyly and Porcello have.
