If we are going to use history, sure, then use history...since the Royals came into MLB, Tigers just as many 100 loss seasons as Royals, Tigers/Royals the same amount of WS titles, the same amount of ALCS titles, and not sure but think the Royals may have 1 more division title than the Tigers would have to double check...

Like it or not... Argee with it or not... I just hate when fans of a team that has been a complete joke for the last few decades tries to tear down a team that has actually been respectable for pretty much the last decade... I know the Tigers should end up with more wins, they have double the payroll..they should have double the wins. Sad part is for the TIgers, you only have to take Miggy off and I would take that bet...1 player..

because I said teams with ERA's ranked over 25th in the league you can't just pin it on "run support", yeah, just becaue as a Royals fans and living with shitty pitching for so long I actually tried to use the same excuse when our pitching was ranked just as good..instead of accepting that our pitching just sucked as well as the hitting...yep, my bad, ok nancydancer..

The Royals starters are good? Outside of a solid 10 game stretch... the only reason you are sniffing the division lead is because the Tigers slumped for a month... over 162 games nobody expects the likes of Vargas, Guthrie, Shields, Duffy, and Ventura to perform better than Verlander, Scherzer, Sanchez, Porcello, and Smyly.

And your team will be lucky to have even one guy bat over .300... meaning if the royals rotation doesn't keep defying the odds... the team will fall... because your team doesn't score enough runs to get through bad pitching... Vargas and Guthrie both will be lucky to have era under 4 by Aug judging by their careers... and Shields is not looking so hot lately... Duffy and Ventura will not even be able to pitch more than 180 innings... probably less... Who might I ask will be the 4th and 5th starters in Sept? Oh wait... you probably haven't thought about that after the celebration for being in first for 48 hours in june.

Ventura is an injury away from being a bullpen pitcher... Porcello is a proven starter with more ceiling to reach... and already more career wins than any pitcher has had for the royals in god knows how long.

You can say that about plenty of pitchers, so until it happens, it's an irrelevant point.

There's a reason Ventura was universally considered a top 40 prospect and Smyly was never near that rank....because people obviously think Ventura will have a higher ceiling.
