It truly is very possible that no royals starter will finish with more than 175 innings and an era under 4... I doubt the same could be said for the Tigers...

You can say that about plenty of pitchers, so until it happens, it's an irrelevant point.

There's a reason Ventura was universally considered a top 40 prospect and Smyly was never near that rank....because people obviously think Ventura will have a higher ceiling.

Ventura has a higher ceiling... for sure.. but if you can show me a starting pitching prospect that throws 100 mph that does not have at least 2 other legit mlb level pitches that made a decent career as a starter... I will be impressed.... Because outside of a 100 mph heater and a fringy curve... Ventura is very hittable... Duffy has a better chance of being a legit long term starter in terms of over all pitches if he can not go back to the injury platoon.

100 mph pitches only get you so far as a starter... if you dont have legit other offerings you get put in the pen... and nobody throws 100 mph for ever... ask verlander about that... only difference and hope for verlander is that he has 3 other plus pitches and command of all of them.

He is picking a bad time with the Tigers ranked 25th currently and haven't been ranked ahead of the Royals in like the last 240 mlb games in pitching to talk smack about pitching...

next he will say, the Tigers with the best hitter on the planet are a better hitting team, no kidding.

he stated Santana was trash before last season, that worked out well. Shields is trash, even though he has been one of the most consistant pitchers in baseball in his career. I am sure Vargas sucks somehow other than looking at his stats. Not a suprise he ranks Porcello and Smyly ahead of Ventura/Duffy...he hasn't been very good at judging pitching other than saying Max/Sanchez/Verlander are awesome, lol..thanks for the revelation...besides the fact of the last 45 starts of .500 4+ era ball Verlander has thrown, which means statistically around Guthrie's numbers.

Take Miggy off the Tigers and they still are a better hitting team....
Be proud of your rotation guy... If you actually believe you have a contender with those guys and in the future they will contend with them... then good for you... i doubt to many teams gm's would agree...

What kind of hungry man doufie? Not sure why that interests me but it does. The Tigers are still going to win the division but watch out for my Twins maybe we are buyers at the deadline.
