Lester was averaging 10.7 strikeouts per 9 IP prior to tonight's start. He has 0 through 4.1 innings right now.

Please find a post in this thread where I said that Verlander sucks. And Lester's been struggling as of late, save for his recent start against the Rays.

But I've been pointing out that Verlander's strikeout and walk rates have gotten worse all year long, and it's been especially true in his last 5-6 starts. And it's showed up in the ERA department, as his ERA's gone up 2.67 to 4.19. His skills shouldn't be declining as sharply as they have over a year's span, so he might be hurt.

yes but. they are splitting hair. on a call at first. took 5 minutes. call could have went either way. do we really want to stop the games for that? in the regular season?

also. every play that is challenged. the manager goes out . waste a couple minutes talking with the ump. while the bench gets word if he should review the play. that takes double the time.

2 in a row Tigers. Rookie gets first home run, Max gets the W, all in all not a bad Fri/Sat for the 1st place Bengals. Get the sweep tomorrow and start building the AL Central lead back up.

It's nice to see Nicky C getting hot. The homer scares me a little, double edge sword. His swing kept getting bigger early in the season after going deep. Hope the same doesn't happen now. (In three days he too a bad BA to above what I expect for a rookie. Funny how quick a seasons worth of stats can shift.)

Nicky Ajax and Avila/holaday got on 19 times in last 3 games before today with only one win...I was still perplexed when I heard that.
