Royals have to make sure not to do what the Tigers do. Sweep the best teams like Oakland and Dodgers and O's then turn around play down to inferior teams.

Royals have I think one game rest of August with a winning team??? Yankee makeup...

Going to be a race, I think that much is certain at this point.

On a side note, how many teams have erased two 8 game deficits in the same season? So far I got 2014 KC, 2003 Minny, and I want to say 1909 Detroit. Can't think of any others.

*Scratch 1909, it appears to be the 1916 Tigers*

What team gave up the leads in 03' ?

Sad actually Tigers gave it up twice this year. Any resemblence of a BP, and I think it should have been a moot point.

van slykes numbers have dropped since he went with very few abs...at the time, he was hitting over .270...and had 9 hr in about 120-130 abs..

You are missing something, this was a discussion a week or so before the trade deadline.

Very much the difference in the two teams, though KC has also hit better. The Royals bullpen flat-out locks down leads in close games. The Tiger bullpen is about 50/50 in those situations this month, though the team hasn't led in nearly as many games either.

A lot of superb Tiger starter performances in August have been ruined by either invisible hitting or a blown save.

Any chance the Indians go 32-10 the rest of the season & sneak into the playoffs?

If they can play something resembling defense, they would honestly be the best team in the division by a good margin. Wouldn't put it past the Indians to go on a run.

Unfortunately I have only caught about 5 or 6 Tribe games on the tv all year. Not sure they could pull that off though.

But you just posted that yesterday. Van slyke dropped that fast? Seems like less AB's would take longer for your AVG to drop.
