If Mondesi can ever get his pitch recognition down and let his hands do the work (he has plenty of bat speed and coordination to have low k numbers) he should be pretty good. Still a mendoza line hitter atm.

Orioles seem exceptionally vulnerable to a run to me if someone gets or stays hot.

their rotation is very dependent on a guy that's thrown 100+ innings in professional ball once... and that was before the injuries (Bundy).

Matt Strahm really has been a revelation out of the pen. Had a long multi-inning stint and passed even if he wobbled at times. If someone told me a LHRP had a 0.68 ERA with a K/9 of 13.5 I'd guess Andrew Miller. SSS alert, but pretty impressive regardless. Wade Davis should be back in a few days.

O's won't make it. 2nd WC will go to KC or 2nd place in the AL West IMO

Just looked at the Astros schedule. If there is a WC team from the AL West, I assume it will be the Mariners. The first half of September is brutal for Houston ( 6 against Texas, 4 in Cleveland, 3 vs Chicago, and 3 in Seattle)

Verlander. 7.2 innings. 4Hs 2ERs.
Stands tall when we need him to.
Close game. He was sharp. I give him 7.94 on a scale of 10. Other words. He was money!

He really is having an awesome season. Probably on the fringes of the CY discussion, which I think is more than any reasonable fan would have expected. Should be interesting to see how he goes down the stretch.

Looked pretty good yesterday - particularly compared to the previous seven starts. Hopefully he can build on that.
I didn't see any of it, but the box score looked more like who he's supposed to be than who he's been lately.

Maybe Tito and Mickey making public statements reminded him to stay on top of things and be more focused.

During one of the Indians V Tigers series earlier in the year Callaway was on for a decent interview. That's where I got the part of him having to tell Salazar he isn't JV. Those were Mickeys exact words. Can't just go out there and expect to get better as the game goes on because of talent. There's work involved in setting yourself up to go deep into games and improve the second and third time thru the order. It was a good interview.

Salazar is still young. Plenty to learn and refine. Scherzer took a long time to put it all together. Was a very annoying process, for me to watch from my couch.

It was brutal. 2 runs scored Saturday when the Angels threw a "bullpen" game at us (no starter), and 0 runs yesterday against a guy with an ERA approaching 5.00. Really inexcusable.

At least 30 points???? You don't understand the michigan way. Its class. Some thing that eludes you.
Michigan never runs up the score. That would be that school down there. L . Carr always showed class about that

LOL. doug is making excuses already. Worried that Khaki Pants might struggle with Hawaii???? hahahaha. So if UM wins 24-21 over Powder Puff #1, doug..... Are you going to say Harbaugh was a great coach because he didn't run up the score?

11 in a row for the Twins. Finally get a decent pitching performance and still lose 1-0 in extras.

Anyone expecting us to spoil anything for the Tribe this week has another thing coming.
