Isn't he just a poor man's Ian kinsler??

His batting average against, while just a tick higher than last year, is better than his career mark as well.

He's giving up fly balls at a career high rate, which kinda goes with the higher home runs and lower ba.

His ERA would be lower if our bullpen didn't suck. Ausmus, aside from yesterday, usually likes to leave him in one inning too long. But so would I.

He's having a very nice year imo. And ERA swings with the breeze.

Yet, most of those stats mentioned, and others, finds Verlander outside the top 20 starters in MLB. Sometimes way outside. My pal Omar382 would tell you that Verlander's xFIP is pretty sad. SOME Tiger fans might hope JV's stats are some sort of "sign"....and I think they are...that Justin Verlander is now just a mid rotation starter on a team lacking an Ace.

I definitely don't view him as a Top 20 pitcher in all of baseball anymore. Sale may be the only one in the division, idk. Prolly.

I heard they sold more tickets for tomorrow's game than any game all year. Of course, that's most likely on account of who's coming to town, nobody has wanted to watch Indians baseball live in over a decade.
