you are still one of the funniest fuckers on here. evolved into what? starters

Avila signed Zimmerman, Krod and Upton, result a few games over .500, Avila learned too much from DD.
Seeing Boston sitting a few games behind Baltimore with the Jays creeping back into it, the trade deadline is going to be entertaining with Dombrowski around.

Doug...If JV is having all these (razor) sharp outings...why aren't his stats a whole lot better? I'm guessing he has had a lot of bowling ball sharp outings to balance out the ones you rave about.

Tigers were very lucky to put today's game in the win column. That was an awful lineup. Kudos to the pitching staff...for once.

Tigers are 1/2 game out of 2nd wild card spot. Mediocrity can pay off!!!

Other than ERA, Verlander's stats are pretty damn good. 1.10 WHIP, 9.3 K/9, 2.3 BB/9, 7.6 Hits/9. All are better than his career rates. The ERA is a bit elevated at 4.11, and all I can point to are home runs. He's on pace to allow over 30 HR this year, which is well above his previous career high (24).

His batting average against, while just a tick higher than last year, is better than his career mark as well.

He's giving up fly balls at a career high rate, which kinda goes with the higher home runs and lower ba.

His ERA would be lower if our bullpen didn't suck. Ausmus, aside from yesterday, usually likes to leave him in one inning too long. But so would I.

He's having a very nice year imo. And ERA swings with the breeze.

Ha. I was thinking you guys were at home this whole time. Lol

Tampa just got wise and laid down a bunt, breaking up Pelfreys no-no.
Some of these games with Morales on base I flirt with the idea of pinch running one of the faster pitchers like Ventura in there. Seen Stroman do it with the Jays- it's an interesting idea I think anyways.

Make em hold batting gloves in their hands so they don't break their fingers, that's my biggest thing.

A lot of pitchers are good athletes. I can see using them as runners making sense in a lot of situations. Especially for a guy like Morales, or Victor Martinez.
