Gambling man in me says under. Significant possibility he blows that out of the water if he could ever stay consistent in his approach.
He is a really good player though--- its crazy that in todays game you can be such an impact player at 1st base without hitting 20 home runs- but he also is basically perfect in all the other stuff- at least defense, leadership, intangibles, etc...that certainly helps too...I wonder if that might help keep his price in a range where the Royals can eventaully keep him....

it probably has not happened very often that a first basemen that has never hit 20 bombs gets a mega-deal but Hosmer isnt your typical 1st basemen i guess- and it is the post steroid era...kinda crazy though.

If he could ever avoid these silly multi-month slumps where he all but breaks his mechanics and swinging at just about everything, I wouldn't be surprised if he snagged an MVP award one of these years. His tools are a bit ridiculous for a first baseman. I doubt he ever really realizes his potential, but he's pretty darn good, regardless.

Kluber over Sale? That's actually pretty straightforward, imo. I'll take the guy who can be trusted to stay upright over the guy who has seemingly constant flirtation with the DL and/or scratches.

Id have Sale at #2.

Prolly would put Kinsler above a few guys also. Maybe that's me being a homer, idk.

Honestly, Sale will prolly be #1 soon.

Cain was 3rd in the AL MVP voting last year. Surprised he doesn't get more love from some folks. Guy has been a 1 man wrecking crew at times.

it was really close for me on Sale and Kluber...the last 2 years their stats are very very similar- Kluber has pitched almost an extra 80 innings though and snagged the Cy Young--- and of course being an Indians fan- if i think things are that close.....

but Sale has amazing stuff- if he could stay healthy he could add a Cy Young of his own this year.

Quintana will be top 20 before the season is over imo. He's underrated.
Rodon has a pretty damn high ceiling too- he was the #2 overall pick wasnt he? lefty throws mid nineties....

White Sox do have some major high end talent..the roster depth is usually pretty poor though there.

Sale isn't even a safe bet to get to 200 IP in any given year. He's probably the best starter in the AL on any given day, however.

Honestly... You have to have never seen Sale pitch to think Kluber is better.

Kluber might not even be the best starter on his wn team this year.
