I have Wright as a bust. Spread offense, shorter plus character issues. Plus the 4.59 40 at the combine. Sketchy.

This I agree with. I have seen nothing that says Wright is a 1st round pick to me. I liked Hill though for his combination of size and speed. I thought he would have been a good project pick for this team. We wouldn't need him to play much in year 1 so we had time to groom and coach him. I just think Hill has the potential to be a #1 WR in this league. Jenkins I don't know a lot about.

Ok after watching film I kinda like this pick. I still think Stephen Hill has the most potential, but Jenkins will be ok even if he is never a #1 WR. I love the way he catches the ball. He reaches up and plucks it out of the air with his hands. You don't see many balls hit his body.

Clyde what do you see in AJ Jenkins you like so much?

Great kid. Reminds me of AJ Green in the way he runs in the open field. Obviously not as good of ball skills as Green but is a bit quicker and is faster down the field. Good hands, explosive in and out of his breaks, great route runner, and does all of the little things well.

We was one of the my top 32 players in the draft and one of my favorite prospects overall. I just had no idea that teams were as high on him as I was which is why I had him as a 49ers pick in the 3rd/4th round.

If he was 2 to 4 inches taller he would have easily been picked in the top 20. The only thing I see wrong with him is his size, but their have been plenty of 6ft tall WR's that were successful in the NFL.

See ya, Crabtree. Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

ha ha ha, when I read Chris's post I had the same thought. I would like to see if Crabtree can come of age this year, but after his postseason...I have to believe he is on his last leg - er, foot.

Don't you worry that he does little to help the Niners' problems in the red zone?

We got Randy Moss for that. We also have Vernon Davis. Plus, just because Hill is 6'4" doesn't necessarily mean he's gonna be a potent redzone WR. Jenkins is a more complete WR, and is more ready.

We're probably gonna go into this season with 6 WRs:

Randy Moss
Mario Manningham
Michael Crabtree
AJ Jenkins
Kyle Williams
Ted Ginn

Though I hope Ginn gets cut.

Honestly, when I first read that quote, I thought it said the 9ers liked his first team mentality (instead of team first mentality).

Either way, I'd say Crabtree's days in the NFL are winding down as a result of this draft pick. I can't see him sticking around unless he pulls a 180.

I'm okay with Ginn getting cut. He can give Crabtree a ride to the airport on his way out of town.

Missed the draft from working late and rangers game 7. But can't say I expected this pick. But what do I know. In harbaalke I trust. I m not mad at this pick at all. Go 49ers!

Who returns kicks? I do see us grabbing another WR late draft/UDFA to compete though.

RT @SI_PeterKing Just talked to one team with a receiver need who liked first-round stunner AJ Jenkins over Michael Floyd.
