I get it, but when you’re up, it’s always better to use that clock, especially when you have a horse like Walker … We tend to get a little pass happy

I don't disagree, but most who are complaining about play type selection now were complaining about the same thing when we ran too much. There's always a complaint.

I don't hate the passing, but it's the pass plays Grubb is doing and his lack of understanding to play to the situation you're in (3rd and 5) instead of trying to 'beat' the defense (which is admittedly much easier to do in College).

I get what his goal is. "Hey Geno and the team, get up to the line, and then I'll look at what the defense is doing and phone in play changes and then you tell everyone on the team what's going on... and we can use 25+ seconds to fuck around with the playcalling before we snap it." The issue I have is every time he calls a pass it's some BOMB or massive heave down the field with a LOT of route development (it can work, but you need a behemoth OL).

This offense IMO has a lot of talent at the skill positions, and at this point it seems like they're WAY overcomplicating or basically playing backyard football and just 'making stuff happen'. It's obvious at times there's a lot of confusion on the offense and most of the WRs/TEs/RBs and especially OL don't understand wtf is happening or who they are assigned to. I think Grubb is trying to get too cute with his coaching, when it's best to call a play for the situation (BEFORE you see what the defense is doing) and then letting your OL and QB make the necessary adjustments based on what THEY are seeing.

An offensive coordinator sitting way up in a booth is trying to look at the defense on the fly and then phone in the adjustment to everyone? What? And you can see the frustration on a lot of the offensive players. Eh who knows, maybe it'll start to work itself out. I mean it's probably the same thing in essence Mac is trying to do on the defense.

I wonder what the MRI will show Metcalf, assuming he’ll be getting one

Edit: I did just read that MacDonald mentioned that he didn’t feel it was that bad.

Fans love to complain about play calling and it is almost ALWAYS results based criticism.

That was a pretty comfortable game to watch. Geno bounced back and had probably his best game of the year. The rookie RT did pretty well. The defense played pretty well against a talented offense. Props to Jobe on a solid game.

Great win. Wish I knew which Seahawk team was the real one though, the one that just dominated the Falcons, or the one that got flattened by the Giants who have scored a whopping 10 points in their 2 games since.

Hey guys Keep your chins up. I can't explain it but win or lose something good is going to happen today. I just got a feeling. I don't know what it is but something good is going to happen. Maybe we force 3+ turnover who knows but i can't shake this feeling something "GOOD" is going to happen today.

Boy I should have bet some cash on that feeling.

Jerrell (?) at RT saved the day. I wonder if he can keep it up?

He was surprisingly good. Not sure how much of that was due to the Falcons DL being pretty average. Judon is definitely past his prime.

That was one of the weakest fronts we will face this year. Lets not get ahead of ourselves here, i am sure our #1, #2 and #3 RT guys would have did just as well or better. Sad i know but the Falcons dont have much there. Now if we can just get our rookie guard some playing time.

Bills/Rams/9ers next... BLEH. I had this pegged as a loss for us, but I definitely had the Giants pegged as one of our guaranteed wins.

If we can go into the bye 5-4 that's not bad... snag one from either LA or the Bills (both are home games, long way for the Bills to go but same could be said for the Giants). Then we get the bye and hopefully we get some folks back. 4 weeks would hopefully get some folks back for the 9ers game and give MacDonald a thorough chance to prep for them.
Bills haven't looked quite well but still dangerous.
Rams aren't very good but that RB stud of theirs is.
Niners are really banged up so with that in mind I think 2-1 can be had.

Bills-loss
Rams-win
Niners-win

That's my hope

Sign of a young team not on the same page yet, I’m sure we’ll see more inconsistency as the season rolls on ..
