Nice game chart tonight:
Probably true. I'm grading Bochy against perfection. Probably unfair.
For every game like today where he's not doing too well, there's a game like the time he schooled poor sub manager Mattingly and got Broxton out of there.
Shit, they switched to the A's. Who cares about the fucking A's!!!
Have a good one guys.
That's the only one i can think of where he really schooled another manager.
So the Rockies won again. Those guys are unbelievable. Hope they go on the road soon.
Sure. But there's probably been a few games where he made some tough calls and they worked. And there have been some he made some tough calls and they didn't.
Average.

Yeah what the fuck with those guys?
NL West is very strong this year.
I like how the Giants' playoff odds are now higher than the Padres.
They've got 11 more at home and 10 on the road. They end the season with 4 on the road in St Louis, if the Cardnial are still in it that'll be a tough series for the Rockies.
Wouldn't it be just like LaRussa to lay down against a Giant opponent?
I guess I'll have to work on developing a metric for that.
Maybe we should tell LaRussa Carlos Gonzalez likes dogfighting and foie gras.
Do that
Actually I'm sure the SABR dudes have done something on that, wouldn't you think?
I haven't seen one. I've seen some use the pythagorean estimate for the number of wins and attribute the deviation to the manager. Im thinking the metric I have in mind, must quantify the probability of scoring in each game situation, select an optimal strategy for each situation to come up with a perfect in game strategy. Accompanied with lots of hand-waving, of course.
Something to work on this winter.
If you come up with something like that, that works and is robust, can you imagine the gnashing of teeth if it gets pr0mulgated?
'No damn computer can manage a team!'
