You act like those albums are a secret. As if any other band didn't have a bunch of shit recorded before being good. Stick to your "real metal", a bunch of bands that nobody's ever heard of, bands that you'll stop liking if somebody does ever hear of them, bands that grew up wanting to play like Dimebag Darrell.

None of the three bands I listed have "albums in the closet"

80's-present thrash, death, black, doom, etc.
lean heavy to early Bathory, mid 80's germanic thrash, Bulldozer, late 80's brazilian deaththrash, early 90's US(and Can) DM, mid 90's finnish DM, 90's hellenic black metal, Mortuary Drape, 00's french black metal, modern funeral doom from all over. Of course there's the all-decades mighty Japanese warriors Sabbat... SATAN BLESS YOU

Tool was like a gateway band for me...they were the band that made me open my mind a little bit, andat first i thought they were really creative. Now theyre kind of boring to me. I still like them, although 10,000 days was a huge letdown. I think A Perfect Circle is the more creative band.

The new Puscifer track is really good.

I agree, but it is rare I like "newer" stuff from a band more than the older stuff. Usually the second or third record is when bands peak, after that they either put out the same stuff just a little watered down, or change completely (usually for the worse).

Tool is no exception, IMO. Ænema and Lateralus were their peak.

I actually prefer opiate and undertow...not their most creative but it was Tool at their rawest and heaviest.

Fracture is leaps and bounds more difficult to play. Sounds like just some fast scale runs (what metal basically is...) and pinching.

I didn't say anything about which was more difficult. Just throwing out some sweet metal guitar. Not everything is a competition.
