For me...

I think the point here is NOT about giving Capt Kirk a fair shot, but more about the fact that for now, our QB is not KC, so he gets a shot at nothing except the bench for now...

I'm not interested in KC speculation, until and unless Griff proves he is not continuously progressing...

And that is fine. My KC speculation comes from RG3 not running at all. If he runs, I am all for RG3.

If you think those three games were enough, you are delusional. First, everybody knew the Shanahans were gone. Then let's talk about the games:

ATL- We lost by one when we had 7 turnovers. KC was responsible for three but explain how Moss and Morris get away with two fumbles each and you blame the QB. And while KC had three turnovers, he also had 3 TD passes.

As I have said he had a great first half, the second half he shit the bed. Here are his second half drives:

3 and out
3 and out
Interception
10 play drive ending in a fumble by Morris
Interception
TD The only points he put up in the 2nd half

This was not a good game, it was a good half. When his team needed him in the second half, when the game was decided, he turned it over or went 3 and out on 4 of 6 second half possessions and put up exactly 7 points. . And this is your example of a good game by Kirk Cousins.

DAL- Very RG3 like stats from last season.

Let's examine the stats of Cousins in this game vs Griffin's '13 numbers:

Completion %:
Cousins 58.3%
Griffin: 60.1%

YPA
Cousins: 5.47 (Grifin's number on Sunday was 7.2)
Griffin: 7.02

TD/Int Ratio
Cousins: 1 to 1
Griffin: 19 to 12

Rating:
Cousins: 71.2
Griffin 82.2

Rushing Yards/Game

Cousins: 3
Griffin: 37.6

You say they're close, I say your boy lost in every single category. You complain about Griffin's dink and dunk last week yet his average per pass was much higher than Cousins in this game, the game you selected for a comparison.

NYG- WTH happened in that game? Was that the bad weather game because KC stats were atrocious.

I don't even need to comment here. His game was worse stastistically than any game Griffin played throughout the entire 2013 season

Now we can mention Jordan Reed as well...our second leading pass catcher missing those games. We can mention the 300+ yards that KC threw against ATL being the most yards a Redskin QB threw since week 3.

So Jordan Reed's injury is a reason to excuse Cousins but we can't use it for Griffin on Sunday? Gotcha

If you want to give KC a fair shot...give him the shot. Don't pretend.

As I keep saying Kirk has had exactly 1 1/2 good games in his entire career. This is not Tom Brady sitting behind Drew Bledsoe. This is the NFL, the big boy league, and you have to earn your right to an open competition. So far he has not and EVERY stat there is shows this.

What did RG3 do to warrant a closed position?

Answers to forth-come

1. He just has a higher ceiling
2. Well he was rookie of the year two years ago
3. Its crazy to even consider giving up on Griffin or making him PROVE he is the better QB because he just is.
4. We should forget about him living up to the trade, but you cant give up what we did and then not give him every chance to prove he is the QB of the future.

In those three games last year KC only had Garcon and Morris as weapons. I want to see how he does as a ball distributor with all the play makers we have now. I think the offense would be quite good. If we find out Griffin has become no more then a ball distributor then clearly KC is much better at that for a variety of reasons.

you know what i want to see ? KC traded for an o/lineman , Rg3 finish out the year as the starter , and if he fails make the plan to draft a qb after we fix the LOS

It is no secret that Kirk Cousins could have been had last offseason. There are plenty of teams that need QB help. Not one team saw Kirk Cousins as the long term answer to their QB situation. The market has spoken and I'll take the opinion of people who do this for a living over message board posters who are mad at their current starting QB.

This is true. The rest of the league doesn't value Kirk as much as we do. We may have had offers, but they weren't significant enough to warrant giving up a pretty good backup QB, especially since your starting QB has issues avoiding contact. Kirk will be on this team thru is rookie contract and will then leave via FA. Unless, of course, he is our starting QB by the time his rookie contract is up.

And the rest of the world does not see my neighbor's wife as good looking however my neighbor does. What does that tell us?

I've seen this movie so many times. Babe Laugenburg was everyone's darling because of preseason games. Todd Collins comes in for JC and lights it up. Posters screamed that he was the answer, why look at the results! Playoff comes and he turns into, well, Todd Collins and soon he is gone. We were all screaming for Patrick Ramsey to replace an ineffective Brunell. Gibbs finally relented. How'd that work out again?

Stop already with the chant for the backup, it rarely is the answer.

Dude KC is not colt Brennan. He was a 4th round pick. Wasn't romo an undrafted FA? If someone where to grade and compare KC to RG the only place RG would grade higher is arm strength.
