Not thinking about a Covid related season. Not pitching a different or better playoff 8 or 16 team arrangement. But would you all like to see these two divisions split? Like, we know in all reality, the G5 teams will always be left out of the national title picture. What if the two divisions split? The bowl games the G5 has will still be in effect. The CFP committee can decide the four best like P5. Just seems like it would be more football and a way to crown a national champion for the division that probably won't ever have the chance.

Used to be against it, but I wouldn't mind seeing it. Probably be treated like the NIT, but would be cool to see relegation & promotions system used between the 2. Make Kansas, Rutgers, and etc earn their way. Won't happen because of the tv $ though.

Yeah, if they're not going to have a 6-8 team playoff that would include those schools some years, that would make sense.

I was just figuring the two national title playoffs we the fans would enjoy. Like an example. Ohio State, Clemson, Alabama, and Southern Cal. Then maybe Boise State, Houston, Tulsa, and Appalachian State. This plus the other bowl games. I know TV money talks. Still as a fan....

Should have happened a long time ago.

Sun Belt is a great conference, and we all should enjoy their competition. But to put them on the same level as the P5s is disgraceful.

They should be in the division that they can win and be awarded the highest of values of a National Champion.

Smalll potatoes here, but also some of these current bowl tie ins where a 9 win Florida team has to play an 11 win Cincinnati team or any other example, the excuse of the P5 team didn’t “get up for it” would be less of an excuse.

There should absolutely be a split and re-alignment of conferences. I worked out a basic frame work a couple years ago.

Re-align into 6-10 team conferences. Each conference would have sub tier conferences associated.
Each tier has an 8 team playoff. Six conference champs and Two at-larges.
Some version of 3-year rolling average or challenge relegation and promotion.

It makes a ton of sense for G5's to more or less have their own championship. It's something people would watch and be more meaningful than the glorified scrimmage in a bowl game.

There's way too many bowl games, and the CFP seems to have rendered them meaningless. But some players have different views on them, though.

Yes, the elite ones have started opting out (wisely). Others don't want the extra practices. But by-and-large, a lot of them see it as like a football end-of-the-year party. They get shwag at the games, their family comes to see them, a lot of them are held in warm climates during the winter. I think that's why a lot of coaches want to retain the bowl system.
